With the EA SPORTS FC 27 gameplay reveal, release date, and pre-order details now confirmed, the next milestone before launch is the FC 27 Closed Beta. The beta gives selected players early access to a pre-release version of the game, allowing EA to gather gameplay feedback and test online systems before the full launch in September.
Unlike an open beta, FC 27's Closed Beta is invitation-only. Here's everything currently confirmed about the registration process, EA Playtesting, beta dates, and how to improve your chances of receiving an invite.
What is the EA SPORTS FC 27 Closed Beta?
The Closed Beta is a pre-release build designed to help EA test gameplay, servers, and new features before launch.
Compared to the retail version:
- Features may still change before release.
- Gameplay balancing isn't final.
- Ratings and content may be updated.
- Progress won't carry over to the full game.
- Players are expected to provide gameplay feedback through EA Playtesting.

The beta exists for testing, not early access as a pre-order benefit.
EA SPORTS FC 27 Closed Beta dates
EA has confirmed the following Closed Beta schedule:
The beta is only available to selected players, and registering does not guarantee access.
How to sign up for the FC 27 Closed Beta in 4 steps
When registration opens, start with these steps to sign up for the FC 27 Closed Beta:
1. Create an EA Playtesting Account
Sign in using your EA Account through the official EA Playtesting website.

If you don't already have a Playtesting profile, complete the registration process by selecting your:
- Preferred platform
- Country
- Languages
- Gaming preferences
- Hardware
EA recommends keeping this information up to date for future Playtests.
2. Enable EA Email Communications
Go to:
EA Account → Communication Preferences
Enable marketing emails from EA.
If you're selected, EA will send your Closed Beta invitation to the email linked to your account. Don't forget to check your Spam and Junk folders as well.
3. Update Your Playtesting Profile
Make sure your preferred platform and gaming interests are accurate.
While EA doesn't state that profile completion guarantees access, an up-to-date Playtesting profile ensures your account is eligible for matching Playtests.
4. Register Your Interest
Beginning 5 August, eligible players may see: EA SPORTS FC 27 Closed Beta – Register Your Interest inside the Your Playtests section of their EA Playtesting dashboard.
Selecting this option registers your interest in the FC 27 Closed Beta.
Why can't I see the FC 27 Closed Beta?
Many players won't see the registration option immediately.
During testing, some EA Playtesting accounts displayed "Register Your Interest", while others only showed Playtests for games such as:
- Battlefield Labs
- NHL
- Apex Legends

This appears to be a staged rollout rather than a public registration page.
If FC 27 isn't showing on your dashboard, it doesn't automatically mean you've been excluded. Continue checking your Playtesting dashboard as registration expands.
Does registering guarantee access to EA SPORTS FC 27 Closed Beta?
No.
Registering your interest simply tells EA that you'd like to participate.
Players who are selected will later receive an official invitation before the beta begins.
EA Playtesting is selective, and not every registered player receives access.
What happens after you register?
If you're selected, EA will contact you using the email linked to your EA Account.
Your invitation will include:
- Beta confirmation
- Download instructions
- Platform information
- Additional participation details
If you don't receive an invitation, you won't be able to access that testing wave.
What is EA Playtesting?
EA Playtesting is EA's official player testing program.
Selected players may be invited to:
- Test games before release
- Complete surveys
- Report bugs
- Share gameplay feedback
- Help improve future updates
Joining EA Playtesting is free, but participation is always by invitation.
Beware of fake EA FC 27 Beta Invitations
Every year, fake beta codes and phishing attempts appear shortly before EA launches its Closed Beta.
To stay safe:
- Only trust invitations sent directly by EA.
- Never pay for a beta code.
- Ignore websites claiming they can guarantee access.
- Be cautious of unofficial emails or direct messages offering invites.
EA distributes Closed Beta access through its own systems—not third-party sellers.
Is EA Playtesting free?
Yes. Creating an EA Playtesting account is free.
Do I need to pre-order EA FC 27?
No. EA has not stated that pre-ordering is required to register for or receive a Closed Beta invitation.
Can anyone join the FC 27 Closed Beta?
No. Access is invitation-only. Registering your interest makes you eligible but doesn't guarantee you'll receive an invite.
Does Closed Beta progress carry over?
No. Progress made during the Closed Beta does not transfer to the full game.
When will invitations be sent?
EA has not published an exact invitation schedule. Selected players will receive an email before or during the Closed Beta period.

The EA SPORTS FC 27 Closed Beta is the first opportunity to play FC 27 before its September release, but access is limited through EA Playtesting. Registration opens on 5 August 2026, with testing scheduled to run from 8–31 August.
The best way to improve your chances is to keep your EA Playtesting profile updated, enable EA email communications, register your interest if the option appears in your dashboard, and monitor your inbox for an official invitation.
If you don't see the EA FC 27 registration immediately, there's no evidence that you've been excluded—EA appears to be rolling out access to eligible accounts in stages.
