As players begin to embark on their ranked journey in Riot Games’ new FPS VALORANT, many are trying their hand at becoming the highest rank in the game. A young prodigy in North America stepped up to become the first player in NA to claim the rank of VALORANT.

None other than Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, the sole player of the current Cloud 9 VALORANT roster became the first player in North America to claim the coveted rank #1. Through constant grinding, and a high level of skill Tenz made it all the way to the rank of VALORANT by the end of the first day ranked was opened for players. If this is anything but a sign of how far this young superstar will go in the competitive scene, then we should expect to see more from Tenz as the game officially launches. Tenz, a former CS:GO professional player, made the switch to VALORANT after C9 announced he would be leading the way for their new roster. With star power like this, we are sure to see some exciting play from him at the professional level in the near future.

A European player, a relatively unknown named OxyGen, achieved the rank before Tenz did. He was the first player to achieve it. Although, due to the fact that no one had heard of him as well as the fact that he made his Twitter the day he achieved the rank, many people discredit his grind to the top.

A small note is that the ranks will completely reset when the game is officially launched, but nonetheless players are still going to grind for the top rank in VALORANT.
