Cloud9 have announced that their highly successful team in the Korean scene, Cloud9 Korea, are being disbanded.

Cloud9 Korea have been one of the best teams in Korea for some time and have often found themselves as the closest competitor to the dominant DRX. They’ve scored a win at the APE VALORANT Battle and multiple podium appearances in Clan Battles. Most recently, they were the only team in the First Strike Korea Regional Final to take a map off Vision Strikers as they fell to them in the semifinal.

There is speculation that the team’s release may be due to the Global Esports Rules and Policies, which were meant to have an update regarding organizations owning more than one team in November. While no such update has been released to the public, it may have been to organizations. If true, it might seal a similar fate for Cloud9 White and T1 Korea.

The entirety of Cloud9 Korea - Park "Bazzi" Jun-ki, Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom, Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul, Son "xeta" Seon-ho, Lee "HATE" Ye-hun, head coach Yu “Pavane” Hyeon-sang, and coach Yoon “Autumn” Eu-teum, are now free agents.
