The North American VALORANT competitive scene is thriving with talent, and organizations are recognizing the opportunity that comes with Riot Games’ new tactical shooter. Teams like TSM, 100 Thieves, Immortals, and many others in the region have been finalizing their VALORANT rosters. This time, it’s Cloud9 revealing the third piece of their squad, Mitch “mitch” Semago.
The American is uniting with his compatriot, Skyler “Relyks" Weaver, who joined Cloud9 in late June, alongside the organization’s first piece of the roster, Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo. Mitch is a former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, similar to the majority of players in the VALORANT competitive scene. He won both the Fragadelphia 10 and Fragadelphia 11 tournaments playing for eUnited and Ownage respectively. He placed tenth in the ESL Pro League Season 6 North America playing for Splyce.
In addition to that, he was crowned with the WESG 2016 Americas Finals title during his time at Selfless Gaming. Towards the end of his career, and during his tenure with Bad News Bears, he managed to get second place in the North American Qualifier of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 and the North American Premier Division of ESEA Season 33.
As for his VALORANT career so far, mitch has been playing unofficially under the Cloud9 name for several tournaments. His first achievement with the team came in the Elite Esports Rivalry Bowl North America, where they finished in first place. Following that, the squad finished second in both Immortals First Light and, most recently, the Pulse Invitational. However, they failed to make it past the group stage in T1 x NSG Showdown, which was considered the first major VALORANT competition for North America.
What do you think of Cloud9’s roster so far? Do you think it is shaping up to compete amongst the best domestically and internationally? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
