It has only been a few days since Dplus parted ways with Kim "Secret" Ha-jin, and it seems that they have already found potential players for his replacement by introducing Jeong "Esperanza" Jin-cheol and Yoon "hyeoni" Hyun-seok as new members of their Valorant roster.

The Korean team had a good run in the initial stage of VCT 2021 qualifying for the regional masters and ending up with 3rd-4th place in the tournament. This earned them a spot at the Stage 2 Challengers event; however, they fell shy of qualifying to VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Masters Reykjavík after a loss to NUTURN Gaming. Stage 3 bore a similar fate for the team as they couldn’t make it to VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs and since they did not have enough circuit points to make VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021, they had to compete at VCT 2021 - APAC Last Chance Qualifier.

As for the players, Jeong "Esperanza" Jin-cheol has garnered quite a reputation in the Korean scene ever since his entry with T1 Korea. Nonetheless, he piqued his Valorant career with F4Q, where he had the chance to participate in VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs against the best teams from around the world. He is known to main Sova with occasional usage of Skye on Split. According to the announcement post, Esperanza’s “precise aim and smart judgment” sets him apart from most players.

In contrast, Yoon "hyeoni" Hyun-seok has had relatively less experience in the scene. But he has managed to make those few months count, first with DFR and then with NUTURN. He showcased fascinating skills as a rookie, propelling the unsigned lineup to a spot at VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Korea - Challengers Finals. NUTURN noticed his extraordinary performances and signed him. Both of these players can have a huge impact on the team’s performance going into VCT 2022, and hopefully, grant them a chance to play at an international event in the upcoming year.

Following these changes, DWG KIA’s roster is as follows:

South Korea Kim "Eugene" Su-yeong South Korea Kim "t3xture" Na-ra South Korea Lee "Jeong Hi" Jung-ha South Korea Kang "iNTRO" Seung-gyun South Korea Jeong "Esperanza" Jin-cheol South Korea Yoon "hyeoni" Hyun-seok
