A lot of the members of the VALORANT community couldn’t wait for the well-known tournament organizers to get more involved in the scene of the Riot’s tactical shooter. As we haven’t seen much from ESL during the Ignition Series circuit, once the series of the events are over, they are marking their steps with the first tournament being hosted by them in Southeast Asia.

The ESL Community Clash, presented by Intel, is an online VALORANT tournament series dedicated to players from the SEA region that will be hosted over October and November this year with a total of $10,000 USD prize money.

The event is open to all in the region (with Vietnam being the only exception), as this format takes a step away from the usual invite-only scheme. Teams can register to the qualifiers via the official tournament website.

The ESL Community Clash will consist of four open qualifiers and two monthly finals, in which we will see the best eight teams each time battling in a double-elimination bracket. The best four squads will advance to the Grand Finals that are planned at the end of November, which will be also played in a double-elimination format. All matches of the Grand Finals will be streamed on the official channels of ESL Asia: Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • October 10th: Qualifier #1

  • October 17th: Qualifier #2

  • October 24-25th: Monthly Finals

  • November 7th: Qualifier #1

  • November 14th: Qualifier #2

  • November 21-22nd: Monthly Finals

  • November 27-29th: Grand Finals

Besides the ESL Community Clash, ESL is also launching a three months long National Open Series for the players in each of the following countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore. Each month will consist of four weekly cups with the monthly finals offering an SG$500 prize pool. The games will rotate each month, but seeing the growing involvement of ESL in the SEA region, we can expect to see VALORANT being available for the players in one of these months. All of these tournaments will be hosted via ESL Play.

What do you think about the event announced by ESL? Do you think we will see them actively hosting tournaments in other regions? Or maybe this announcement is just the beginning of more serious VALORANT esports competition around the world? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
