The VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN keeps on rolling as we are inching closer towards the end of the Omega stage of the tourney. On February 24 we saw two matches take place and they were:

Fnatic sweep Sentinels in most awaited matchup of VCT LOCK IN

One of the most awaited initial matches of the event featured Fnatic take on Sentinels on Haven. Right off the bat, it was Fnatic that got to work. A phenomenal defense side with the whole team fragging out saw the team from EMEA take the first half with a commanding lead of 9-3. Sentinels managed to find the first two rounds on defense as Kohei "BlackWiz" Mikami was trying his best to keep his team in it on Jett. However, Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev's Jett was even more menacing and it was his side that emerged victorious with a comfortable 13-6 on their own map pick, Haven.

Unfortunately for Sentinels, their own map pick was somewhat lackluster for them as well. Despite the first half being a close matchup, it was Fnatic that managed to carry their momentum into the second half with an equal 6-6 half. Fnatic's attack side looked scary with Derke just playing deathmatch with the North American team. Bryan "pANcada" Luna attempted to keep Sentinels afloat on their own map pick, yet Viper's heroics were bested every time by the Fnatic five. Jake "Boaster" Howlett's side took an almost flawless attack half, sealing the deal at 13-7 and ending the series with a clean-cut 2-0.

FURIA satisfy home crowd

The second and last match of the day saw FURIA take on T1 as FURIA was being heavily cheered for by the home crowd in Sao Paulo. That cheering may have done wonders as the Brazilian team showed spectacular VALORANT and rather swiftly dismantled their opponents.

T1 picked Pearl as the opening battleground and the first half saw an even matchup emerge. T1 initially gathered momentum, but FURIA eventually put together 5 straight rounds to stay in the matchup, leading to a 6-6 halftime score. The second half, however, was all FURIA as the Brazilian team demonstrated an impeccable defense side. Douglas "dgzin" Silva on Neon was especially menacing, garnering 11 kills in 8 rounds on defense. T1 only managed to get one round on their attack side as the match finished 13-7 in favor of the home team.

Icebox kicked off with yet again FURIA off the leash. The home team was picking up momentum when the Riot Games admin team decided that an illegal Killjoy Nanoswarm was used by Douglas "dgzin" Silva. This led to a long hiatus after admins decided that a point will be awarded to T1 for the Nanoswarm placement.

This somewhat did give momentum to the Korean side with Lee "Carpe" Jae-hyeok popping off on Sova alongside Ha "Sayaplayer" Jung-woo. This, however, did not last long enough. FURIA had the last say in the half as they won 7-5. Once more, they carried their momentum to their attack side. Gabriel "qck" Lima was especially effective on Sage as T1 did not manage to even clinch one round on defense. FURIA cruised to another swift victory on their very own map pick with a 13-5 score.
