MJAOMODE’s Taimou rates Team Heretics as "the best team in EU right now”

The European VALORANT scene is filled with talented players and promising teams, and the most recent First Strike Europe: Qualifier #2 Playoff/Play-In proved it. One of the pleasant surprises during the First Strike Europe: Open Qualifier A was MJAOMODE, who managed to defeat and on their way to the First Strike Europe: Qualifier #1 Playoff/Play-In. They eventually didn’t make it to the Regional Finals as they only finished 17th-32nd.

One of the team member’s, Timo "Taimou" Kettunen, was featured in a recent interview with Dot Esports, where he was discussing his upcoming matches at the time prior to the tournament. He believes Team Heretics is currently the best team in Europe right now. Although some might argue against his claim considering the success the likes of G2 Esports and FPX Esports achieved in the region, he attributed it to their unique playing style and “really good aim.”

“They’re the best team in the EU right now. They have a very distinct style, how they play, and they have really good individuals.”

Later in the interview, Taimou admitted MJAOMODE didn’t have any gameplan or set strategies going into the tournament. Instead, they were simply “just having a good time” and “don’t really have a style” yet. For a three months old roster who already managed to make it to the Closed Qualifiers, and defeating Guild Esports on the way, they are definitely on the right track.

What do you think of Taimou’s claim that Team Heretics are currently the best in Europe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!

They haven't proven themselves yet, at least not against top tier opponents. Heretics have pretty impressive statistics though, not gonna lie. And they have won multiple times against Vodafone Giants, which are a decent squad, but as long as they have not played G2, FPX or Liquid I don't think you can count them as a top 3 team. I think they actually could beat Liquid though.
