Player Ratings, Matches & Results Notifications, VODs pages and more - Website Update 1.05
2020 has been an eventful and hard working year for our team, and 2021 will be no different. With a small update released already on the 4th of January this year, we’re happy to announce the second update to our website including big features that we have been working on for quite some time.
Player Ratings
In VALORANT, as we all know, the current metric that most people use to compare players performance in a map or a series would be the Average Combat Score (ACS) that is provided by the game itself. As the description provided by Riot, ACS include:
- 1 point per Damage
- 150 / 130 / 110 / 90 / 70 points for kills based on enemies alive
- 50 points for additional kills in case of Multikills
- 25 points for non-damaging Assists
We have decided to look at this further and came up with a Rating metric ourselves that takes more inputs to generate a number based on the performance of the player. While not handing out the complete formula, our Rating is based on:
- Kills, Deaths and Assists
- First Bloods and First Deaths
- Multikills (2k , 3k, 4k, 5k and 6k)
- Clutches (1v1, 1v2, 1v3, 1v4, 1v5, 1v6)
- Plants and Defuses (depending on the scenario of each Round)
- Economy of each team at the beginning of each round
The rating will be featured on games that happened in 2021 onwards and will be found in the Match Detail page, as well as the Players profile pages. We will be implementing this metric all over our website, including all Stats pages you find per Event. While there are some limitations to the data we are provided by Riot’s API, anything improved from the API will definitely be reviewed to include it in our Player Ratings metric in the future.
Any constructive feedback is always welcome from the community, similar to feedback we have received on our Rankings that we took onboard and updated. We would like to thank everyone who has already provided feedback on this; you all know who you are!
Matches & Results Notifications
As you all know, currently we have Website Notifications for actions related to what you do. Basically if you create a comment or a forum topic on our website and someone replies to you, you get these notifications on the top right hand corner of our page. Today, we’re taking notifications to another level. The notifications we’re talking about are actually Browser Notifications; notifications that you can access from your device, not just from our website. The idea of these notifications is to keep up-to-date with your favourite teams on their matches and results. If you would like to know when Sentinels, G2 Esports (or any other team) will be playing and their results immediately, then keep on reading to set this up.
In order to enable these notifications, first of all you need to have a registered account with our website. Once you’re registered and logged in, go to your profile and click the Edit Profile button. In there, you will see a button “Enable” under “Browser Notifications” which you need to click (make sure AdBlock is stopped on the website else it will not work).
If you have the browser notifications off by default, when you click this button you will be asked to enable them for this website. Once you enable them, the button will be changed to “Disable”.
The last step you will need to do in order to start receiving these notifications will be to go on your favourite team page and click the “Subscribe” button. Once you do that any matches that we schedule and results for that Team, you will be notified immediately about them. In order to stop receiving notifications on a particular team, all you have to do is to click “Unsubscribe” from the same page or you can remove them from the Profile.
This feature currently has some limitations that we’re looking into on Safari browsers. The rest of the main browsers stack including Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Edge; the notifications should work fine. If you have any difficulties setting it up do not hesitate to drop a comment down below or message us through Twitter / Discord.
VODs Pages
A new feature that we have added on the Teams and Players pages is VODs. In here you will find all the VODs of the games that the relevant team or player has played in and was streamed by themselves or by the Tournament Organizer. Along the list of the VODs which includes details of the Opponent, Event, Stage and when it was played we have also added a Filters dropdown to find VODs faster and easier. The filters include:
- Opponents
- Agents
- Maps
Here you can see TSM's VODs page
Other Updates
Speaking of filters, you can now also filter Events (Ongoing & Upcoming) by the following:
- Regions
- Teams
- Players
The list of Regions include North America, Europe (includes CIS & TR events), LATAM, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Oceania and Southeast Asia. This feature will be also added to the Completed Events, Upcoming Matches and Results as well in the future.
The last update we are releasing today is related to the Teams and Players pages. As you can see, we can now show Stand-ins in the Teams page while also upcoming matches and latest results. We also added the current Region Rank the team is in and we will be also adding the total amount of money the team has gained in the future. Similar updates have been replicated to the Players page.
We would like to thank you for reading the above and let us know your thoughts in our comments section below. Any feedback is highly appreciated!
