According to the report of George Geddes, the North American organization Cloud9 is working to sign with Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker, who is considered one of the best players in the world.

The 24 years-old player recently announced that he is open to offers as a free agent from partner teams in the North America region after OpTic Gaming unexpectedly failed to select a partner team by Riot.

Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker will likely sign the contract shortly and will battle alongside some of North America's bests like Erick "Xeppaa" Bach and Nathan "leaf" Orf. The American player currently has a 1.34 KD rating, and a 1.22 rating, according to THESPIKE.GG's data.

Yay will join Cloud9 after leaving his OpTic legacy. He won the VCT Masters with OpTic in Reykjavik, Iceland in April and finished in a number of other top two positions. In the Grand Final of the VCT 2022 - Champions Istanbul, in the match where they lost 3-1 against Brazilian team LOUD, he played with 78/68/7 KDA and 217 ACS and had his name written at the top of the team's scoreboard.

Also, on September 22, Cloud9 benched Rahul "curry" Nemani and Mitch "mitch" Semago. Now both players will open to offers as Cloud9 free agents.

All 30 partnered teams will compete in a kick-off event in São Paulo, Brazil, to kick off the VCT 2023 Season in February 2023.
