NRG Esports have announced the departure of Ryan "Shanks" Ngo.

Shanks joined NRG at the end of December, following his successful fill-in period with Immortals. Results have been decent for NRG so far, qualifying for both VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 1 and VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 3, but ultimately they failed to make VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America Masters. Looking simply at scoreboards, Shanks was not performing as he had been previously or up to par with other Jett/Operator players, though there’s certainly a case to be made that, for instance, his team enabled him much less than others.

In their last run, Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor played his first games with NRG while Gage "Infinite" Green was out of the lineup. As Infinite is still contracted with the team, it remains to be seen whether NRG will pick up a new player to directly fill Shanks’ spot or whether Infinite will be back in the lineup. They’ll have to decide before North America’s first VCT Stage 2 matches kick off on Thursday next week, the first of April.

NRG now have:

Canada Damian “daps” Steele United States Sam “s0m” Oh Canada Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic United States Gage “Infinite” Green Canada Bradley “ANDROID” Fodor

United States Chet “Chet” Singh (Coach)
