Team Liquid have defeated M3 Champions in the VCT 2022 - EMEA Last Chance Qualifier Grand Final to become the last EMEA representative at VCT 2022 - Champions Istanbul.

Bind

The series started with M3C’s pick, Bind. Team Liquid played two great post-plants and won the first two rounds of the competition. M3C took control of the game after the fifth round. They had already won the first gun round and the Russian team grabbed seven to lead the first half on the attacking side. Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov led his team to victory with a 1.64-rating Raze performance. He secured 14 kills and 4 of them were first bloods, which pretty much opened up the bomb sites for his teammates. The newest addition to TL’s roster, Dmitriy "dimasick" Matvienko did his best with Brimstone in his hands, holding a 1.07 rating and 3 first bloods. Team Liquid once again showed dominance in the pistol round and won one more round to tie the scoreboard. However, M3C’s defense got better after buying guns. The Russian team only lost one round and won six to conclude the first map of the series, 13-8. Bogdan "sheydos" Naumov held a 2.24 rating in the second half and he was the most important factor of M3C’s dominance, which is obvious looking at his rating.

Icebox

Team Liquid picked Icebox, as expected. Thanks to sheydos’ KAY/O, M3C won the first two rounds but Team Liquid took control after the first gun round. The European team won five rounds in a row on defense, three of them were bomb defuses in which they played the post-plant perfectly. They kept their lead until the end of the first half and had the advantage before going into the second half, 7-5. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom, Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen, and Dom "soulcas" Sulcas kept their teams in the lead, with the Belgian superstar stepping up with a 1.35 rating and 5 first bloods on Raze. Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin joined sheydos and tried his best to keep his team even with TL. Timofey "Chronicle" Khromovand sheydos had great efforts in the second pistol rounds and with their lead, M3C made a strong start on the defensive side. Team Liquid had pure dominance after buying their first guns and won three rounds in a row. After the 20th round, the European team reached the 11-point. M3C defused the bomb two times and tied the game at 11-11 as the match got very tense. Team Liquid said the last words and won the last two rounds to tie the series after their 13-11 win on Icebox. ScreaM had a marvelous performance on Raze, holding a 1.60 rating and grabbing 28 kills with 7 headshots.

Ascent

M3 Champions’ second map pick was Ascent and it was the third map of the series. ScreaM picked Phoenix again, just like he did against BBL Esports Team Liquid made a great start to the map by winning four rounds in a row. Thanks to Chronicle’s efforts, M3C managed to pick up four rounds on the attacking side. Apart from their wins, M3C only planted the bomb once and it was defused by Liquid. TL won eight rounds on defense and secured an important advantage before switching sides. ScreaM’s Phoenix was very effective for them as he held a 1.61 rating with 14 kills. Chronicle on the other hand finished the half with 10 kills and 4 first bloods while holding a 1.07 rating. Team Liquid had a dominant performance in the second half after switching to attack. They only lost two rounds and concluded the map after winning five, 13-6. M3 Champions looked lost against ScreaM’s Phoenix pick, and of course on their map pick. ScreaM had a great performance, holding a 1.85 rating and a 2.36 K/D.

Breeze

The last map of the series was Breeze, Team Liquid’s pick. Liquid secured a huge advantage after taking their opponents down with a score of 13-6 on their map pick, Ascent. It was time to conclude the series after the fourth map but the earlier stages of the competition went in favor of M3 Champions. The Russian team kept the lead with a score of 5-2 but after that point, Team Liquid sat behind the wheel. Jamppi and ScreaM carried their teams and they won the last five rounds by defending the bomb sites, 7-5. ScreaM finished the half with a 1.78 rating and Jamppi followed him with a 1.63 rating. The European team had a better performance in the second half and they won the game with a score of 13-8 to end the series and lift the VCT 2022 - EMEA Last Chance Qualifier trophy. The Belgian superstar finished the game with a 1.85 rating and grabbed 29 kills, 7 of these were first bloods.
