VALORANT Black Market Butterfly melee easter egg turns it into CS:GO Butterfly Fade, Sapphire

The release of the new VALORANT Black Market Bundle had mixed opinions among the fans regarding its similarity with the weapons from CS:GO. But after a recent Reddit post, it gathered more attention as players found out that the Black.Market Butterfly Knife has an easter egg which turns it into a similar Fade and Sapphire butterfly knife that is available in CS:GO.

Earlier, it was not sure how players could trigger the easter egg yet as according to some users, it gets triggered randomly, and the effect will last one round. Some users managed to get the easter egg within 50 rounds of the game, and some even took more than 500 rounds but didn’t manage to get any. The chances of getting the easter egg knife variation are really low, which the fans assume is the same as a CS:GO unboxing experience.

After looking at the curiousity among the fans regarding how often the easter egg can be seen, Sean Marino, Associate Art Director for VALORANT, replied to the initial tweet made by Flexinja and said, “okokok we'll talk. Chance is 1 in 1000. That chance basically "re-rolls" every time you spawn on a new team (including the first spawn of the game). the 1 round thing likely comes from folks trying this in OT”

A rather cryptic tweet by Joe Lee, Leading Product Manager for VALORANT, "give the people what they want" perhaps was a hint to the easter egg? This will not be the first time we witness an easter egg in a VALORANT skin bundle; earlier, we spotted a similar easter egg in the Champions 2022 Butterfly Knife, although the developers let us know about it in the official launch trailer of the bundle.

If you are fascinated by the VALORANT Black.Market Bundle, it is currently available in the VALORANT Store for 7100 VP and the bundle includes a Bulldog, Vandal, Marshal, Classic, and Butterfly Knife (Melee) skin. Upgrading the weapons will feature two different skin variants depending on which side you are on. During a match, there will be two variants, one for the Attacker side and one for the Defender side. If you want to buy a weapon skin, it will cost you 1775 VP. If you are after the Black.Market Butterfly Knife it will set you back 3550 VP.
