In the VALORANT Episode 6 update, the developers removed Breeze and Bind from the map pool, introduced a new map Lotus, and reintroduced Split with a minor rework. As per the developers, removing Bind from the map pool was done for strategic diversification.“We’d like to open up more play around the teleporters and potentially rethink how teams execute, and defend against executes, on both sites.”

On March 30 via a Twitter post, VALORANT announced they would bring Bind back into the map pool with the upcoming VALORANT Episode 6 Act 3 update. Bind was a popular map among the players, with its unique feature being the Teleporter, which allowed players to rotate towards Site A to Site B or vice versa. It was one of the maps in the game since the Beta version and received a few minor changes before the map was taken off the pool. The Twitter post mentions that the update will go live on April 25, 2023 with loads of changes. This includes repositioning the Teleporters. Here are the changes you can expect on Bind in the upcoming VALORANT Episode 6 Act 3 update:

Since the removal of Bind in VALORANT, the map selection in the pro matches has been quite stale, with Ascent, Haven and Icebox being the top three picks among the teams. Adding Bind back to the map pool can be interesting as players can introduce new compositions and innovate their strategies. Hopefully, these changes will warrant a different playstyle compared to what we've seen before the map being removed from the map pool.
