Mehmet Yağız "cNed" İpek picked Sage as we are now used to seeing him with the agent on Bind. Even though Acend looked like the better side, in the beginning, Team Liquid bounced back with back-to-back wins to match their opponents. At first, both teams shared round points like they were in a mutual agreement but Acend broke that agreement in the second half to win the first game of the series. The Polish players Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt and Patryk "starxo" Kopczynski both had 20-kill performances to carry their team on their pick, Bind. zeek's first-half performance came in handy for the team. The ScreaM and Nivera brothers’ effort wasn’t enough in the end. Acend took the first game point, 13-6.

Just like game one, Acend once again made a strong start to the map thanks to cNed’s insane Marshall plays. Acend’s teamwork hasn’t been this good since the start of the tournament and today they showed an incredible team effort. On the other side, the myth himself, Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom held onto the series with his insane one taps, including an important ace to keep his team in the series. However, Team Liquid struggled to unlock Acend’s defence in the first half which led them to win only one round before going into the second half.

Despite winning the first two rounds of the second half, Team Liquid lost too many rounds in the first half and after the first one they lost in the second half, Acend reached map point. With Santeri "BONECOLD" Sassi’s impressive Omen play to confuse TL’s defence, Acend closed out the series in 18 rounds, 13-5, and became the first finalists of VCT Champions 2021.

Picking up from where they left off, KRÜ Esports won the opening rounds of the first game with Angelo "Keznit" Mori’s successful gunfights. On the other side of the competition, D3ffo had one of the worst performances in his career as he finished the first half with only two kills on Jett. Redgar and Chronicle tried their best to get past KRÜ Esports’ tight defence and win as many rounds as possible before going into the second half. The first half ended with a score of 8-4 in favor of the LATAM representatives.

Gambit’s offence looked much better in the second half compared to KRÜ, as they caught a seven-round win streak to start and conclude their attacking turn strongly. d3ffo played much more confidently and found some important kills to get his team in the lead. KRÜ Esports struggled to find open spots for a possible plant but even if they did, Gambit’s post-plant moves were so clean. KRÜ failed to win a single round in the second half and Gambit won the first map after a great attacking side performance, 13-8. Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov’s 24-kill Skye performance was the difference-maker in the game as he finished the map with a 1.69 rating and 2.18 K/D.

KRÜ picked Ascent as the second map of the series and started on the attacking side. They managed to execute their strategies well and won seven rounds in the first half. Gambit on the other hand successfully defended the sites five times to catch their opponents in the second half. We usually see D3ffo with Jett on Ascent but this time his choice was Skye.

The second half started with Gambit Esports’ dominance but KRÜ responded almost rapidly after the third round and kept the lead in their favor. Many players stepped up on the LATAM side but Mazino had a spectacular performance with Sova in his hands. The Chilean player used his arrows to defend B site and he was successful in almost every attempt. Gambit’s efforts to turn things around failed as KRÜ responded with no time. The rounds almost didn’t even come to retake positions as the LATAM team’s defence was on point. KRÜ won the second map to keep their hopes alive, 13-7.

KRÜ held onto their momentum from the last map and won the first four rounds with keznit’s leadership. Gambit’s Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin didn’t have his best start to the game with Viper in the first half, he also struggled in the previous game with a 0.57 rating. The EMEA team got their names on the scoreboard after winning the fifth round. KRÜ perfectly defended both sites until d3ffo’s dominance with Jett. The Russian player carried his team on his shoulders to steal a couple of rounds in the first half with nAts’ important help. The first half ended with a score of 8-4 with KRÜ’s lead.

KRÜ made a fantastic start, winning the opening round of the second half without dropping a single player. Gambit almost won the second round but Mazino was there to save the day for the LATAM team with an important clutch. Gambit Esports tried their best and performed a five-round win streak and spiced things up in the competition. Chronicle stepped up with an insane clutch to keep his team but KRÜ reached the 12-point mark first. Gambit managed to even the scoreboard by forcing overtime. The overtime was so intense as both teams wanted to meet Acend in the finals. After a head-to-head competition during overtime, Gambit Esports won the series with a score of 18-16 and qualified for the finals. Gambit’s Chronicle secured 68 kills in three maps.

The final will be played tomorrow at 6PM CET / 9AM PST, after an exciting pre-game show featuring Zedd and other stars. VALORANT Champions Grand Final will be streamed live on the official Valorant stream (twitch.tv/valorant).
