From today’s recap posted by THESPIKE.GG, you might’ve already gained some insight on how both of the matches played out and that Acend and Gambit will be making their way to the VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021 Grand Finals. Following the conclusion of each match, press conferences were held with each team and THESPIKE.GG had the opportunity to ask the players some interesting questions.

Acend

In yesterday’s press conference, BONECOLD said that we will see a prime Acend today and you managed to do so. What do you think is the reason behind the drastic improvement Acend had?

Finland [player= 5692]: *I feel like one thing that really differentiates us from other teams is that our focus on growing as a team is knowing how to adapt to different situations, be it within the game or while preparing for it. I feel like a lot of people go in and have a ton of strats they want to use, but I think this game requires you to be focused and be ready to adapt to different situations, initiate different comms depending on what the opposing team is doing. That's something that we are good at. I think that is one of the reasons why the tournament, rather than the entire year, has been so good for us because we've been doing it since day one and we're always learning how to improve it even more. *

Do you think the desire to seek revenge for the loss against Team Liquid boosted the team’s confidence going into the matchup?

Ukraine Vladyslav "kiles" Shvets: *No, it was the desire to win the tournament. * Poland Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt: *I mean Kiles just answered the question. Coming into the game always, we don’t care about what team we are facing. I feel like we are currently the best version of ourselves and there is no team stronger than us. *

Any favorite play from the match?

Finland Santeri "BONECOLD" Sassi: I like the part where I used my Omen Paranoia. * Poland Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt: I liked the play when I was dominating on Bind. I don’t like the play when I was doing nothing on Split*. Poland Patryk "starxo" Kopczynski: I wanted to knife Link, but he killed him. So unlucky bro. (To Kiles) When you were doing the 4k, Link was in the box he went into your trap, and I wanted to knife him, but you didn’t hear.

Team Liquid:

Is there any aspect of the team’s gameplay you felt was lacking today?

Finland Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen: *I don’t think it was a single aspect in particular since it was a combination of several factors. I think it was just an off day for us. We just didn’t play our best today. It sucks but that’s how the competition goes. I think we can learn from this match and will be back stronger next game. *

KRÜ Esports:

There's no denying that you deserve to be semifinalists. Do you feel as though you have done more than what you initially thought given the teams you have had to face?

Argentina Nicolas "Klaus" Ferrari: *I think that every one of us knew the level we had, but we maybe didn’t get to the tournament as best as we could. But when we started training, we started getting better and our gameplay was evolving and going up. There was this barrier at the start between what we did in scrims and what we displayed on the main stage. At the end we managed to break that barrier, got to the Semi-Finals, and proved to the world what we were worth. *

Gambit:

You now face Acend in the grand final, how confident are you to play them considering your only recent loss came against Acend at Redbull Home Ground?

Russian Federation Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin: Nobody cares about the Red Bull tournament when tomorrow is the final of the Champions. I don’t think anyone from our team will think about the last match in the finals. Russian Federation [player= 598]: *We will go up against any team, and it doesn’t matter to us who it is or the past we had with them. *
