VCT Champions Semi Final Press Conference

We are nearing the end of VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021, which means all the excitement and drama it has generated will soon be over. Before the Semi-Finals, all teams were requested to participate in a press conference. The Semifinal Press Conference was conducted yesterday, December 10th at 3pm CET // 6am PT and THESPIKE.GG was invited to participate. We were able to ask intriguing questions from all qualifying teams: Acend, Team Liquid, Gambit, and KRÜ esports.

Acend:

THESPIKE.GG: A month ago, Acend faced defeat with a 3-1 in a head-to-head battle against team liquid. Will that experience be helpful in preparing for your upcoming matchup?

Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt: Yes, I just wanted to say that our team is very well prepared. After the loss against liquid, we know the match can go either way. I say that the match gave us a lot of experience. I will send that question to BONECOLD so he can answer again.

Santeri "BONECOLD" Sassi: *After the first time when lost to liquid live with 1-3, I really feel like things have really started polishing in the last few weeks. I feel like have a good chance to beating them. We are really confident going into the matchup and you’re going to see a prime team Acend beating liquid tomorrow. *

Team Liquid:

THESPIKE.GG: Is having defeated Acend only a month ago increase the team’s morale going into this matchup?

Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen: Yeah, I think so. We’ve already beaten them, and I heard they want to get revenge. So, going to the matchup we have a lot of confidence to deny their redemption. We are going to win the match!

THESPIKE.GG: Which team would you prefer to have in the Grand Finals if you win your Semi Finals matchup?

Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen:* I would absolutely love to play against Gambit, especially when we last played them in EMEA, I didn’t play my best matches and its something in my mind that I want to get revenge and prove to myself that we were the better team, and that it was just an off day for us. *

THESPIKE.GG: How did your team react to KRÜ's win against Fnatic yesterday?

Igor "Redgar" Vlasov: *We were ready for both situations: one where Fnatic is winning and the other where KRÜ is. We knew that they could beat them, so we were prepared. So, it didn’t matter who we were going to face because we were ready for both of them. *

KRÜ Esports:

THESPIKE.GG: In an interview with us, Mazino mentioned that nervousness can often lead to bad decisions. How do you think you can control the pressure from affecting your performance?

Juan Pablo "NagZet" Lopez Miranda: *I think it is a factor where we have progressed in during the year. We discovered that the best way to control nervousness is calming each other while playing the game. Now when feel anxious, we have pauses to calm ourselves and take a deep breath before we can continue playing our normal game. *
