And in 2026, the mystery became even deeper. Lana’s Apartment Update introduced a major expansion to the story. Lana moved into her own apartment in Freeplay.

While it’s labeled as roleplay-only, the apartment clearly contains intentional lore hints and secrets. But to truly understand what’s happening, we need to go back to the beginning.

Who is Lana in DTI?

Lana is the nail technician in the salon, but she is also the main character of the Dress to Impress Lana lore.

At first, she seems like a normal NPC. However, her backstory reveals a much more serious situation.

• Lana was an only child who met a mysterious entity named Agamemnon, who tricked her into eating a cursed apple.
• The apple made her seriously ill (possibly due to a parasite), leading her to the Home of the Doves Medical Center in 2013.
• There, she met Nurse Julie, Lina, and Serena, but later had a violent outburst and was placed in isolation.
• After leaving the hospital, she worked as a nail technician for Gigi, but felt overworked and dehumanized, which made her angry.

Major twist

• The Lana working with Agamemnon was actually a doppelgänger
• The real Lana was kidnapped by the developers and went missing
• The doppelgänger later regretted her actions and cut ties with Agamemnon

Current state

• Lana has been freed and is grateful
• The developers are gone
• It’s unclear if she still wants revenge or has moved on
• Lana’s Apartment (March 7, 2026) adds new clues through interactive objects in Freeplay
