100 Thieves’ Champions 2026 run comes to an end at the hands of Team Vitality

One of the favorites to win VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Champions Shanghai has been eliminated in the Lower Bracket Final. For 100 Thieves, the loss against Team Vitality marks the end of their tournament run, but also secures the team's best-ever placement at a VALORANT Champions event.

Meanwhile, the EMEA organization is now just one win away from lifting the Champions trophy. In the Grand Final, they will face LOUD, the youngest roster in the tournament, for the Champions 2026 title.

NA vs EU

One of esports' oldest rivalries took center stage in the Lower Bracket Final and will continue in the Grand Final. North America versus Europe is set to light up the Mercedes-Benz Arena as VALORANT Champions 2026 reaches its conclusion. To secure their place in the title decider, Team Vitality had to overcome one of the tournament favorites, 100 Thieves.

Although the series ended without a fifth map, the victory was far from easy. In a back-and-forth battle, Team Vitality had to recover from a disastrous opening map before finding their rhythm.

The EMEA squad turned the series around with some of the wildest setup plays imaginable, combining sharp aim, international experience, and an impressive read on 100 Thieves' approach to secure their place in the Grand Final.

After their international success at EWC - Esports World Cup 2026 and an incredible Grand Final against LOUD at VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Americas Stage 2, 100 Thieves found themselves in the Lower Bracket early in the tournament after G2 Esports pulled off an unexpected victory. From that point on, the North American organization fought its way through the elimination stage, taking down Nongshim RedForce and NRG before getting revenge against G2 Esports.

However, despite their impressive Lower Bracket run, 100 Thieves could not carry that momentum into the series against Team Vitality. The loss brings their VALORANT Champions 2026 campaign to an end with a top-three finish, marking the organization's best-ever placement at the tournament.

VALORANT Champions 2026 Grand Final

The VALORANT Champions 2026 Grand Final will take place on October 18, with LOUD facing Team Vitality for the title.

The VALORANT Champions 2026 Grand Final comes with several historic possibilities. If LOUD lifts the trophy, they will become the first team to win Champions twice, achieving the feat with the youngest roster ever to reach a Grand Final in the tournament's history.

Meanwhile, a Team Vitality victory would make Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov the second player to win both a Masters and a Champions trophy, joining former professional player Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi, who has held that distinction since 2024. It would also bring the Champions trophy back to the EMEA region for the first time in five years.

Anything can happen in the Grand Final, but only one team will lift the trophy and claim the most prestigious title in VALORANT esports. Champions 2026 will also mark the end of the competitive season for most players.
