Alym has his visa approved just in time for Masters Santiago
It took a while, but Torogul "alym" Baidyldaev will finally arrive in Chile to compete at VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Masters Santiago 2026 with FURIA. According to a report by THESPIKE Brazil, the young Kyrgyz star got his visa approved this Thursday (February 26), just two days before the start of the event. Now, the Brazilian organization expects alym to land in Chile by Saturday (28) morning to join the rest of his teammates in the country.
All's Well that Ends well
As the sole member of this FURIA squad who is not from a country in the Americas (alym is from Kyrgyzstan), the team was well aware that alym would need a visa to attend the first Masters event of the year in Chile. In fact, the organization began the process for alym's visa well before they even qualified for Masters Santiago, though the whole ordeal ended up taking longer than they initially expected.
In the end, it was Riot Games themselves who ended up lending a hand — as they often do in cases like this — in order to ensure the first seed of the Americas could attend the event. With the help of Riot, FURIA felt confident the situation would be resolved in time, and never even moved forward with the possibility of a “plan B” to replace the player.
It's worth noting that, after winning VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Americas Kickoff and securing their region's first seed for themselves, FURIA will begin their Masters Santiago run straight from the playoffs. This gives the organization a little extra time to get everything sorted and running smoothly while other teams in the tournament battle it out through the Swiss Stage.
