Aspas officially re-signs with MIBR through the end of 2027

It's official: Erick "aspas" Santos is staying with MIBR for the next competitive VALORANT season. The Brazilian superstar has signed a contract extension to remain with the organization not just through 2026, but through the end of 2027.

According to MIBR's Head of Esports, Carla Sernaglia, the move is a "large investment, designed to build and strengthen a long-term project."

A New Superteam in the Americas

Now that aspas has officially re-signed with the team, MIBR look ready to take the VCT Americas by storm in 2026. With a team of this caliber, though, ambitions will surely turn beyond the Americas and to the international stage before long. In fact, Sernaglia herself stated that the organization "will do whatever is necessary to win major titles in [VALORANT]."

Admittedly, MIBR demonstrated a good run of form throughout 2025 with aspas at the helm. In the past year, the Brazilian star helped guide the organization to top 3 finishes at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Kickoff and VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 1, as well as international appearances at both VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 and VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions. For all of their efforts, however, 2025 was a trophyless year for MIBR all the same.

After being named VCT Americas Player of the Year at the 2025 VCT Season Awards, aspas will be hoping that this new squad has what it takes to secure some silverware. Packed with both firepower and experience, all that remains to be seen is whether MIBR's new lineup can develop enough chemistry to complete the recipe. If they do, then sky's the limit.
