aspas prioritizing MIBR amidst interest from VCT China teams

One of the biggest questions of the VALORANT offseason has been centered around the impending landing spot of Erick "aspas" Santos in the VCT 2026 season.

aspas has garnered a ton of interest in the VALORANT offseason, namely from the Chinese VALORANT scene. According to THESPIKE Brazil, aspas has been in talks with more than half of the VCT China teams, with some even presenting official offers that range outside of the market standards set in other regions.

However, according to a report from THESPIKE.GG Brazil’s Bruno Povoleri, aspas has prioritized staying with MIBR for the upcoming competitive season as long as the organization meets his requirements.

What will MIBR's roster be in 2026?

According to the report, aspas is waiting until the new lineup has been assembled by MIBR before re-signing with the organization himself. Throughout the offseason, aspas has been recommending players that he would like to be a part of the team next year, two of which were MIBR head coach Danny "fRoD" Montaner and IGL Andrew "Verno" Maust. Both fRoD and Verno have expiring contracts at the end of the 2025 VALORANT season and will need to re-sign with MIBR if they are to remain with the organization in 2026.

This offseason process is similar to the Brazilian star’s 2024 offseason where he took part in the development of the most recent iteration of MIBR that reached 5th-6th place at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions.

The 2025 MIBR lineup will not be reuniting ahead of the VCT 2026 season following the organization’s decision to move on from the trio of Gabriel "cortezia" Cortez, Arthur "artzin" Araujo, and Eduardo "xenom" Soeiro, all of whom are looking for a new team in 2026.

artzin has been linked to FURIA ahead of the VCT 2026 season, while Sentinel player cortezia has been partaking in trials with the North American organization Sentinels. Additionally, he had discussed the possibility of joining FURIA earlier in the offseason.

As for xenom, there have been no updates as to where he will land in the 2026 season. It wil be interesting to see how the offseason continues to develop for MIBR ahead of the VCT 2026 season.
