Breaking down the most popular agent comps in the VCT Stage 2 across every region
All Stage 2 tournaments have drawn to a close, crowning the final champions of the VCT 2025 Season in every region. As hype continues to build for the start of VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions, it's time to look back at the most popular agent comps of Stage 2 across all regions, painting a picture of what we might come to expect at the biggest international tournament of the year.
The most popular agent comps of Stage 2
Americas Love Their Neon
The VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 2 saw the Americas stand out as the only region to have Raze show up over Neon as the duelist in their most played comp. Composed of Omen, Viper, Raze, Fade and Vyse, this comp was only picked on Lotus in the Americas. As the region's most picked map, though, this proved enough to see this agent composition be the most played in Stage 2.
Sentinels and NRG, in particular, really enjoyed this comp, with each team picking it a total of 6 times. Given that both teams managed to qualify for Champions Paris, it seems safe to say this comp has served them well.
Breach shows up for EMEA
Over in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 2, teams showed a little more love towards Breach, with the region's most picked agent comp across the tournament being Omen, Sova, Neon, Breach and Cypher.
The squad that enjoyed this comp the most was none other than EMEA's revelation team of Stage 2: GIANTX. On their way to qualifying for their first international event ever, GX showed full faith in this comp, picking it a total of 12 times (7 on Sunset and 5 on Haven).
China Whips Out the Killjoy
When it came to the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - China Stage 2, the region's most picked comp of the tournament was Omen, Viper, Neon, Sova and Killjoy, with the comp being picked only on Haven. XLG Esports, JD Gaming and Nova Esports all showed complete confidence in this comp throughout the event. The question has to be asked, though: should they have?
In the end, XLG was the only one of these squads to qualify for Champions Paris. Meanwhile, the three teams who made it the furthest in Stage 2 in China — Bilibili Gaming, Dragon Ranger Gaming and EDward Gaming — all preferred to play with Cypher over Killjoy on Haven.
Pacific: The Land of Double Duelists
While every other region's compositions showed a more standard approach to the game, the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Stage 2 stood out for being the only region whose most picked agent composition involved running double duelists. This comp was built of Omen, Yoru, Neon, Sova and Cypher.
Though the only teams to pick this comp were Rex Regum Qeon and T1, both squads felt confident in their choices. RRQ chose this comp 8 times (all on Haven), while T1 picked it a total of 7 times between Haven and Sunset. With both teams qualified for Champs, only time will tell whether they will continue to run this comp on the international stage.
Omen, Viper and Sova dominate the VCT
Throughout Stage 2 across all of the VCT, the three most played agents remained the same across every region: Omen, Viper and Sova.
It's no secret that Omen has been wildly popular in the pro scene for quite some time now thanks to his reliable smokes on top of a kit that is full of flexibility and skill expression, particularly for a controller. This has proven enough to see Omen become the most played agent in Stage 2 in every single region by a considerable margin.
In Americas and the Pacific, Viper came in second behind Omen, with Sova following suit. Over in EMEA and China, meanwhile, Sova overtook Viper, claiming second place for himself.
