Cloud9 are the latest major VALORANT team to announce their move to a 6-man lineup, as Michael "poiz" Possis has joined the team.

Known as a star on the ranked ladder, consistently placing multiple accounts at the top of the leaderboards, most prominently under the name DOINKMACHINE97, poiz has been slowly but surely breaking into the competitive scene. He played First Strike with SOR, upsetting XSET in a qualifier, and was also slated to stand-in with Immortals for Rhett "Kehmicals" Lynch in VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 1 of the North American VCT before the request was denied. Typically playing Jett, he’s posted 242 ACS and 1.49 KD over his competitive games.

poiz is a young player with high potential. Where exactly he slots in on Cloud9 is unknown - perhaps he replaces Mitch "mitch" Semago to allow mitch to move back to the sentinel role, or perhaps he plays on specific maps. He’s yet another sign, though, of Cloud9’s evolution after Tyson "TenZ" Ngo’s departure.

This move also sees Cloud9 join the ranks of Team Heretics and paiN Gaming, among others, in running a 6-man roster. This setup is becoming increasingly common in the competitive VALORANT scene, and it will be interesting to see how many more teams join the trend.

    Cloud9 Blue is now:

United States Mitch “mitch” Semago United States Skyler “Relyks” Weaver United States Daniel “vice” Kim United States Nathan “leaf” Orf South Korea Son “xeta” Seon-ho United States Michael “poiz” Possis

South Korea Yoon “autumn” Eu-teum (Coach)
