Cloud9 part ways with Relyks, "More on C9 Blue's future to be announced in the coming days"

After being a member of the team for 10 months, Cloud9 have announced that they’ve parted ways with Skyler "Relyks" Weaver from their Cloud9 roster.

Relyks was one of the original members of Cloud9 Blue, and has been through it all - from some good results during the Ignition Series to First Strike disappointment to the recent rebuild. Never a star but always a solid piece, he has all-time stats of 216 ACS and 137.2 ADR. He’s also become something of the face of the team since Tyson "TenZ" Ngo’s departure, as the main role in their videos and content explaining where the roster has been headed.

Most recently, Cloud9 Blue have been just beginning to find success following their rebuild after TenZ stepped away. They qualified for Stage 2 VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - North America - Challengers 1, and came one map away from making top four with their loss to Version1. This put them in VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - North America - Challengers 2, with four more spots on the line for VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - North America - Challengers Finals.

In a follow-up tweet, Cloud9 state that “More on C9 Blue’s future will be announced in the coming days.” This could mean anything from a full dropping of the roster to a simple 1 for 1 replacement, the floor is wide open for speculation. Though it seems unlikely that C9 would drop their roster as they’ve just begun to garner some results, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Update: Relyks has released a Twitlonger, saying that the decision to part was mutual and on his end was primarily due to burnout. He's going to take things slow, streaming and resting while being open to the right offers.

    Cloud9 Blue is now:

United States Mitch “mitch” Semago United States Nathan “leaf” Orf South Korea Son “xeta” Seon-ho United States Michael “poiz” Possis

South Korea Yoon “Autumn” Eu-teum (Head coach) United States James “JamezIRL” Macaulay (Assistant coach)
