Riot Games has announced that French esports organization DVM has been permanently removed from France's VALORANT Challengers league. This decision follows an extended review of an altercation that occurred at a live event involving multiple DVM supporters and members of the team that escalated to physical violence.

    Strict consequences

On Wednesday, April 9, DVM were banned from participating in VCL 2025 - France: Revolution Stage 2, due to a massive brawl that broke out between DVM fanatics and fans of Joblife. Various videos and eyewitness reports, placed the blame on the DVM side, with members of the team's management seen in clips instigating violence or knocking phones out of people's hands. It was a massive scandal that ended up causing DVM to forfeit the match, although DVM's higher ups were quick to deny the allegations on their own social media platforms.

In the announcement post, Riot said that "despite multiple communications and opportunities to align with [their] expectations, the DVM organization has exhibited behavior that does not reflect the responsibility and conduct requires of teams in [their] league." Additionally, they said that DVM failed to maintain the professional standard expected from all participants of the league. As a result, they were forced to kick them from the league entirely.

We remain committed to providing a safe and positive experience for all players, staff, partners, and fans involved in our events. We will continue to work closely with the rest of the team to ensure that the highest standards of professionalism and sportsmanship are maintained.

Despite DVM's removal from the league, their players remain eligible and are allowed to participate in the upcoming matches, whether they form an independent team or join a new organization that has no connections with DVM. The only thing that the players must acquire is approval from the league, and they can continue to play in Challengers France.
