After defeating Bilibili Gaming in the lower bracket finals of the VCT 2025 - China Kickoff, EDward Gaming have secured their ticket to VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025.

Coming off their stunning win at the VCT 2024 - Champions 2024, the Chinese giants did not want to miss the chance to prove their worth on the international stage once more. Now, EDG will join Trace Esports as the first two teams to qualify for Bangkok.

EDG level up in time

The team that shocked the world at the end of 2024 to walk away with the VALORANT Champions trophy came into this year’s VCT China Kickoff ready to prove they were more than a one-hit-wonder. After a straightforward win against Nova Esports to start the tournament, however, EDG looked utterly out of sorts in their match against Trace Esports during the tournament’s Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Down to their last life, EDG slowly grew into shape by rampaging through the Lower Bracket until meeting up with BLG in the Lower Finals. Though EDG were pushed to overtime on the opening map of Pearl, the team was able to come away with the map in the end before kicking into gear for Haven and Lotus, where EDG simply looked always in control, securing their place in Bangkok in the process.

A rematch in the finals

EDG and Trace Esports are set to face off to close out the VCT China Kickoff tournament in style. While Trace put up a dominant display the last time the two teams met just days ago, EDG look to be ramping up and will be eager to put up a good fight this time around. To decide who will earn the title of 2024 VCT China Kickoff Champions, the two teams are set to take each other on January 25, starting at 10 am CET.

Meanwhile, both of EDG and Trace are already qualified for Masters Bangkok as the two representatives from their region, proving they still stand a cut above their competition in China.
