Envy bring in Marved, bench Kaboose

The roster shuffle is now in full effect in North America, this time another top 5 team has decided to make a change. The most consistent team outside of Sentinels, Envy will be bringing in Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen to replace Jake "kaboose" McDonald, who will be moved to the bench.

Formerly of FaZe Clan, Marved has been the subject of controversy throughout his time in VALORANT. Often drawing the ire of his opponents for his antics, and his potential involvement in the ESIC matchfixing scandal dating back to his Counter-Strike days. Despite this, he has stayed focused at becoming one of the best players in North America. Often playing the controller Omen or Brimstone, or the occasional Sage, his lurking prowess fit well into the full throttle approach of Faze. Across almost 3200 competitive rounds in the past year under the Faze Clan banner, he has amassed an ACS of 219 and a rating of 1.07. He also boasts one of the highest headshot percentages in the scene, at an astonishing 30%.

During his time with Faze, Marved help the team accomplish a first place finish at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 3, and a second place finish at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America Masters. With bringing in their newest recruit, Envy will look to finally get over the hump, as they have finished top 8 in every event they've played, but only won one time.

With just under 2 weeks until VCT Stage 3 begins, and roster opportunities dwindling as the days go on, Kaboose could potentially have a hard time finding a home for the Berlin qualifiers. In almost 4300 rounds in Riot officials, he has an ACS of 217 and a rating of 1.04 primarily playing the duelist roles.

The meta has changed considerably with the recent Patch 3.0, the addition of Kay/O, price changes, and nerfing of the run and gun will decide what 5 agents teams decide to run. For now, that is unknown, but most likely Envy will move to the one duelist role with Marved being a specialist in the controller play style of Omen.
