Envy returns to VALORANT with a brand new roster
Envy has officially re-entered the competitive VALORANT scene, marking their return with the signing of the RANKERS roster. The organization, which last competed in the title before merging with OpTic Gaming in 2022, announced their comeback on their official X account. This move signals Envy’s renewed ambition to reclaim their spot among North America's elite.
Envy’s return is spearheaded by RANKERS, a squad that has shown remarkable consistency at the regional level. The team is coached by Dakota "Stunner" MacLeod, a seasoned leader who previously coached T1 from April 2021 to July 2024 before transitioning to RANKERS. Under his guidance, the team dominated the VCL 2025 - North America: Stage 1 Swiss stage, securing a 4-0 record to qualify for the playoffs.
Envy’s Legacy in VALORANT
This marks Envy's second stint in VALORANT, with their first tenure ending in 2022 when their legendary roster, including Chet "Chet" Singh, Pujan "FNS" Mehta, Victor "Victor" Wong, Austin "crashies" Roberts, Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker, and Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen, merged with OpTic Gaming. This roster was instrumental in securing North America’s second-ever international trophy, winning VCT 2022 - Stage 1 - Masters Reykjavík.
After stepping away from VALORANT for nearly three years, Envy has now made a bold move by acquiring a top-performing team. RANKERS’ impressive run in the VCL 2025 North America: Stage 1 group stage proves they might just be ready to compete at the highest level.
Eyes on Ascension
With the playoffs of VCL 2025 NA: Stage 1 set to begin on March 11, Envy’s newly signed squad will make their debut under the historic banner against M80. The tournament serves as a crucial stepping stone towards Ascension, which offers a coveted spot in the VCT franchise league. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the team in action, as Envy's first match will open the playoff stage.
Envy’s return revives a legendary North American esports organization. With a strong roster and Ascension in sight, they aim to build on their legacy. One thing is clear—Envy is back and serious.
