EP paTiTek: "I finally got that hunger and fire back"
Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski spoke to THESPIKE after Enterprise Esports' loss against Karmine Corp in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - EMEA Stage 2 to discuss what went wrong in the series, KC’s crazy playstyle, his hunger coming back, and much more.
The loss against Karmine Corp
THESPIKE: What are your first thoughts after the loss?
paTiTek: "It is what it is sometimes. We tried to find an answer to Lotus, but we did not really manage to do that. Personally, I was put in a position where I could not really do anything.
I was playing in positions I had never played before, so sometimes these things happen. You just have to move on. We still have a lower bracket run ahead of us, so there is no time to be sad. We need to go back, reset, avoid overthinking, and go again."
THESPIKE: It took four Tier 1 teams to finally stop you after such a long run. You managed to overcome everyone until KC came in, and they have looked very strong in this split. I also heard you calling them out for playing without many set strategies. Their style is very free-flowing. Do you like their playstyle?
paTiTek: "I like it. I am maybe not a fan of it, but I like it. I respect that they can play that way, especially on stage, because you need to know when to make those plays, and you need to have the courage to commit to them.
I think we were prepared for it because their style is somewhat similar to ours. Honestly, it could have gone either way today. We should have closed out Haven. That should have been our map, and the series should have been 2-0 in our favor.
But things happen. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Their playstyle is clearly working, so it must be good, right?"
THESPIKE: After Haven, your coach said the team did not really look like a team on that map. You were making a lot of individual plays, and he said he did not like that. Do you think KC’s playstyle forces you to take more individual risks than usual?
paTiTek: "No, I do not think so. I think it forces us to be completely on point with what we are doing on the map, and to react instantly. You cannot be even one millisecond late to what they are doing, because if you are delayed, they already have an advantage over you.
We tried to stay on top of our game, but they played well today, so we have to give them credit too."
THESPIKE: You said in a previous interview that you moved to a Tier 2 team because you were missing some hunger and passion for competing. You were looking for a new challenge in your career.
Today, you looked absolutely on fire. Every time you won a round, you stood up, screamed, and were the first person cheering.
Do you feel like this new journey has awakened something in you?
paTiTek: "I think so. For me, what matters is not being restricted. I want to be able to show my emotions and hype up everyone on the team. I was restricted before, but I will not go into details. It is really important for me to show emotion, hype myself up, and hype up my teammates, because then I play better, and they play better too. It is also good for the people watching.
I finally got that hunger and fire back. All I want is to win. I always want to improve, and I always want to win."
Some people do not want to improve, and they end up not even making the playoffs once in VCT. That is up to them, and I do not really care about them. I care about myself, how my team behaves, and how we play.
That is the most important thing. I have my hunger and my fire back, and it feels good to play on stage.
THESPIKE: It is not only you. Every Tier 2 team has exposed the system by showing that the gap between Tier 2 and Tier 1 is not as big as people thought. Some Tier 2 teams can even be better, and many players on these rosters have never received a Tier 1 opportunity.
Your team is a good example, with Ilari "iluri" Puranen playing on stage for the first time despite never getting a shot in Tier 1. It is pure magic to see.
When you were playing in Tier 1 and qualifying for Champions, did you ever realize that some of these players deserved the same opportunity?
paTiTek: "The players here have proved that they deserve their chance. If they did not deserve it, they would not be winning. It is as simple as that."
People can say that Tier 2 players have more hunger, but that hunger should exist in Tier 1 too. I do not know what is going on with some people, and I do not really care about them.
"For me, it is about wanting to play, wanting to get better, and wanting to improve. But there are a lot of people who just play to play, and I really dislike that mindset.
If you get the opportunity to sign a contract and play on stage, you should be eager to learn. You should be eager to leave your comfort zone and try to become something good, something great, something new. A lot of people are scared to do that. I think the play-ins and the playoffs are the result of that."
THESPIKE: The next phase of the tournament will be held in Barcelona. Are you excited about the possibility of playing in front of a much bigger crowd rather than in a studio?
paTiTek: "Definitely. FPS games are so enjoyable to watch, especially with bigger crowds. VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai proved that. Masters and Champions, with those huge arenas, create a completely different feeling and experience.
I have always dreamed of playing on stages and in arenas like that. My dream came true in Shanghai, but it was not enough. I want to keep playing and experience that feeling again.
It is definitely good for the ecosystem to have a final in Barcelona, just like League of Legends does. I think it is a really good thing."
Focusing on the present
THESPIKE: Speaking about the next stage, I had a question in mind. Denis-Stefan "kozzy" Aionitoaei is only 16 years old, and if you qualify for Champions, the rules could create some problems for him. Is that a scenario you think about as a team, or are you only focused on what is happening right now?
paTiTek: "No, we do not think about it. We are only focused on what is happening right now.
We do not care about what will happen after we qualify for Champions. What matters is showing up and playing good VALORANT. If we qualify, that is great. If we do not, then it is what it is."
THESPIKE: You have already had a magical journey. I wanted to switch to another topic. You are one of the veterans of VALORANT, with a lot of experience and time spent on different teams and alongside different players.
League of Legends recently inducted Caps into its Hall of Legends. If VALORANT had something similar, which three players would be the first ones you would add?
paTiTek: "No one; the game is too young for that to happen. I think VALORANT needs to be around for more than 10 years before we can answer that question and decide which players belong there.
There are many players who have been really good on stage, but there are also a lot of things happening behind the scenes. It is difficult to judge.
For me, the game is simply too young to start calling people 'Hall of Famers'. League has been around for 15 or 20 years, or even longer, and players have competed in tournaments for 10 or 15 years. They have played MSI and Worlds, won, lost, and had time to prove who the best players are.
We do not have that in VALORANT yet. There may be some players who are getting close, but I think the game is still too young to call anyone a Hall of Famer."
Despite this loss, Enterprise's dreams of making it to the final stages of the torunament are still alive. In order to conquer a spot in Barcelona they will have to overcome the winner of the match between Team Liquid and Eintracht Frankfurt on August 23 at 16:00 CET.
