Fnatic locks down star duelist Kaajak with a hefty contract extension
Major success in the VCT
Kaajak began his pro VALORANT journey with Apeks, where he played a crucial role in the team winning VCT 2024 - Ascension: EMEA and securing a spot in VCT EMEA. Following his standout performances in Challengers, Kaajak signed with Fnatic in October 2024.
Since then, he has continued to impress. During his first year with the squad, Fnatic won a regional Stage 1 title, finished second at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, and delivered its best-ever Champions performance at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions. While they didn’t secure an international trophy in 2025, they consistently ranked among the top teams, with Kaajak playing a major role in that success.
A pillar of the team
Extending Kaajak’s contract is a significant move for Fnatic’s long-term plans. Fnatic manager Colin "CoJo" Johnson shared on X that securing Kaajak ahead of the 2026 offseason was a top priority for the organization.
“Really happy we have been able to extend him until the end of 2028. He has established himself as one of the pillars of the team, and it was a key focus of mine to make sure we got this deal done before the offseason began. Excited to see what we can continue to do together, especially since he still has so much more room to grow!”
Only confirmed player for 2027
As it stands, Kaajak is the only Fnatic player confirmed for 2027. According to Riot Games’ Global Contract Database, the rest of the roster is set to become free agents at the end of 2026. The coming months will determine whether more players stay or if the team heads into a rebuild next offseason.
