Fnatic sign Veqaj following Chronicle’s departure
Fnatic have officially announced the player replacing Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov on their 2026 roster. Frenchman Sylvain "Veqaj" Pattyn, previously part of Gentle Mates, made his Fnatic debut during the INZONE London Clash. Veqaj, who previously played as a scan Initiator, will now take on the flex role on the new squad.
Chronicle’s replacement confirmed
After three runner-up finishes at international events, Fnatic decided it was time for a change. When Chronicle left the team earlier in October to join Team Vitality, fans wondered who could possibly fill the shoes of the Russian superstar. Two weeks later, it’s now confirmed that Veqaj from Gentle Mates has signed with Fnatic for the upcoming season.
Veqaj has played on a number of Tier 2 rosters before joining Gentle Mates in May 2025. Gentle Mates, alongside Apeks, struggled during VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - EMEA Stage 2, losing all of their matches. However, even in defeat, Fnatic saw strong enough potential in Veqaj to earn him a spot on one of EMEA’s most dominant organizations.
A New Flex Player
Throughout his time with Gentle Mates, Veqaj served as the team’s scan Initiator, primarily playing Fade and Sova. During the INZONE London Clash, he revealed that his role with Fnatic will expand beyond his usual comfort zone, as he transitions into a flex role. At the event, fans witnessed his versatility firsthand as he showcased a diverse agent pool across multiple roles.
Fnatic’s 2026 Lineup Complete
This latest addition appears to finalize Fnatic’s roster heading into the 2026 season. Jake "Boaster" Howlett and Austin "crashies" Roberts are confirmed to stay for another year, and there have been no reports of Emir "Alfajer" Ali Beder or Kajetan "kaajak" Haremski leaving the organization.
Fnatic also confirmed the news with a post on X, sharing a photo of the full squad alongside the caption “Complete.”
