Former KOI player ShadoW transitions to coaching
Former KOI VALORANT player Tobias "ShadoW" Flodström has announced his transition from professional player to coach. Taking to his X account, ShadoW shared his aspirations. He emphasized his passion for teaching and the wealth of experience he brings to the table, hoping to guide and inspire teams across regions.
A Rocky End to His Playing Career
ShadoW spent the 2024 season with KOI in the VCT EMEA league. Unfortunately, his tenure was plagued by disappointing results. KOI struggled throughout the year, placing 6th at the VCT 2024 - EMEA Kick-off and finishing dead last in both VCT 2024 - EMEA Stage 1 and VCT 2024 - EMEA Stage 2. The team also failed to qualify for any international tournaments, leading to ShadoW being benched in October before officially parting ways with KOI.
Despite these challenges, ShadoW expressed gratitude to the organization, calling his time with KOI "an amazing experience" and praising them as a world-class team.
Stepping down as a player to pursue coaching… I truly believe I have a lot of knowledge and experience that can benefit any team.
Exploring Coaching Opportunities
Now focused on coaching, ShadoW is open to a range of roles, including assistant or strategic coach in Tier 1 and head or assistant coach in Tier 2. He emphasized his strengths being in-game knowledge, anti-stratting, problem-solving, and fostering a winning mindset.
After four years as a professional player in VALORANT, ShadoW reflects on his time with fondness and determination for what lies ahead. “It’s been a blast,” he wrote, while reaffirming his motivation to help a team succeed.
ShadoW invited potential organizations to reach out, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute value through his expertise and professionalism. "I’m incredibly motivated to help a team succeed," ShadoW said, adding that he’s eager for the next step in his career and available to assist teams with preparation or specific events.
As ShadoW embarks on this new journey, his experience and passion for teaching could make him a valuable asset to any team seeking to improve and succeed.
