G2 Esports bid farewell to jawgemo ahead of 2027
In 2027, G2 Esports will undergo three major roster changes, with Alexander "jawgemo" Mor being the latest player confirmed to leave the team. After winning four regional titles with G2, jawgemo is now parting ways with the organization.
G2's dominance in the Americas
After winning VCT 2023 - Champions with Evil Geniuses, jawgemo became one of the most sought-after players on the transfer market. With his teammates announcing their departure from the organization, the American player was also set to move on, opening the door to a new chapter in his rapidly rising career.
Few expected him to join G2 Esports, which had recently acquired The Guard's spot along with its talented roster. In 2024, the team struggled to make a significant impact, with few notable results.
However, 2025 was a completely different story. The roster enjoyed a spectacular run, winning every regional tournament that year. They came close to claiming their first international title at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025, but ultimately fell short of lifting the trophy.
The 2026 season brought another regional title, but the team's international results fell short of expectations for a roster with so much talent. At both their international appearances this year, G2 finished in fourth place, leaving fans with another lingering "what if." With major changes coming to the VCT circuit next year, G2 has begun rebuilding its roster, and jawgemo is now among the players set to leave the team.
Where is jawgemo heading next?
In a farewell video, G2 looked back on the titles, memorable moments, and everything jawgemo brought to the team. The player also took the opportunity to thank the fans and everyone who supported the roster throughout its tournaments.
"End of an era. It’s been a journey these last two years at G2, enjoyed every iteration of it! Have to say thanks to staff and the boys for always pushing each other to reach goals we never thought was possible. Shoutout to the fans that stuck through the ups and downs of what was happening over here at the G2 camp. Hopefully my journey doesn’t end here because this has been a hard year for me. Losing a lot but building and becoming a better person is what this is all about! Excited what’s in store next but thank you G2 for making it a banger couple years. Until next time!"
Jawgemo has yet to reveal where he will continue his career. Some rumors suggest he could move to Europe and try his luck in a new region, but nothing has been confirmed so far. With the transfer window now open, more news about his future could emerge in the coming weeks.
As for G2 Esports, only Trent "trent" Cairns and Nathan "leaf" Orf are set to remain on the roster for 2027. The organization is expected to announce more additions in the coming weeks.
