Former DRX Academy player Kim "ZynX" Dong-ha has officially joined Gen.G Esports ahead of the VCT Pacific 2026 season.

As the VCT Pacific 2026 season draws closer and closer, teams are starting to solidify their lineups going into the new year. Now, just weeks before the start of VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Pacific Kickoff, Gen.G has revealed that ZynX has officially joined their lineup as the former DRX Academy player has his sights set on his Tier 1 debut.

ZynX’s move over to Gen.G is one that was highly suspected following the in-game leader’s departure from DRX Academy at the end of the 2025 season. Additionally, ZynX was seen participating in both the SVL - 2025: Main Event and the Partner Series - VALORANT Radiant International Invitational in the offseason. There, he helped Gen.G perform admirably with a 3rd-4th place finish at SOOP and a 2nd place finish at the VALORANT Radiant International Invitational. As a result, ZynX has now officially joined Gen.G ahead of the VCT 2026 season and will look to learn under Kim "Lakia" Jong-min’s leadership and help Gen.G make it back to VALORANT Champions at the end of the VCT 2026 season.

    What’s next for Gen.G?

As for Gen.G, they will be looking towards improving upon their VCT 2025 season and qualifying for more international tournaments in 2026. Gen.G had an underwhelming VCT 2025 season compared to the VCT 2024 season that saw the Pacific team hoist the championship trophy at VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai. While the team was able to piece it together with a 5th-6th place finish at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, Gen.G were unable to make any other appearances internationally. It will be interesting to see if the addition of ZynX will help take this team back to the heights they were able to achieve during the 2024 season as one of VCT Pacific’s most consistent teams.
