Gen.G t3xture addresses scrim sharing accusations in VCT Pacific
Over the last week, the competitive VALORANT scene has been abuzz with speculation and allegations of scrim-sharing in the Pacific region. The fire was lit when TALON head coach Hector "FrosT" Rosario refused to fistbump DRX’s head coach Pyeon "termi" Seon-ho on-stage before their game in VCT 2025 - Pacific Stage 1’s lower bracket.
Afterward, multiple comments were made around the situation, including from other players and coaches. But recently, Gen.G Esports superstar Kim "t3xture" Na-ra released a video to address the issues at hand and give his perspective.
False allegations?
“Knowing the other team’s strats doesn’t necessarily mean you can win the game,” T3xture said. “If the strat failed, you think it’s ‘cause info leaked? That doesn’t make sense. Either the strat was bad or the timing was off. I just can’t understand why people are dismissing other people’s hard work and looking down on all that. Is being good at the game a crime now?”
The 25-year-old continued by saying that he always believed that if his team loses a game, it’s because they played worse and the opposing team played better than them, and it’s as simple as that. Additionally, he scoffed at the idea of Korean teams sharing scrims with each other, because the rivalry runs so deep between all the teams that they couldn’t even fathom helping their opponents with anything.
The superstar player was also tired of catching strays from the allegations flying around them, stating that if these accusers actually had evidence of scrim sharing, that they should reveal it.
For example, former Apeks member Peter "Governor" No posted a statement on his social media saying that during his last year with Talon, they had proof of some teams scrim sharing and that they had shown Riot, but Riot “didn’t really care, and told [them] they couldn’t enforce anything.” He does think that scrim sharing should be made against the rules, and punishable.
Proof is needed
Team Liquid’s assistant coach Daniel "yaotziN" Roczniak gave a broad, sweeping statement on the topic of scrim sharing, saying that it has been a huge problem that “everyone has already accepted.” As a result, he supposedly prepares with possible scrim sharing in mind, so that their strategies are changed for the upcoming games.
Wolves Esports’ head coach Chong "Fayde" Hoc Wah also provided a screenshot of a text conversation he had with an unnamed coach from another team, where the individual was offered some scrim information about Wolves Esports. According to both Fayde and Yaotzin, scrim sharing is unfortunately happening way more often than you could imagine behind-the-scenes.
Termi defended himself on social media, even goes so far as to offer his retirement if any credible evidence is presented that shows DRX leaking scrim information. He also believes that Frost should take responsibility for “fueling these baseless rumors,” and that he wants Frost to clearly state which teams, players, or coaches were involved, and that he should reveal the evidence he has on those people.
