Keiko parts ways with NRG ahead of 2027 season
After spending a year with the NRG, Georgio "Keiko" Sanassy is set to part ways with the organization after being granted permission to explore his options as a restricted free agent. In his first season competing outside the EMEA region, the duelist secured three third-place finishes in regional tournaments and a runner-up finish at the EWC - Esports World Cup 2026.
Keiko leaves NRG
For keiko, his time with NRG has come to an end ahead of the VCT 2027 season. In an announcement on X, the player revealed that he would be leaving the organization after being granted permission to explore other opportunities on the market. Despite his departure after just one year with the team, keiko reflected positively on his time with NRG, describing it as an incredible experience.
With the conclusion of Champions, NRG have informed me that I will not be continuing with them next year, they're letting me explore options as a restricted f/a. Thankful for the amazing experience this year and the great teammates I had everyone was really welcoming and I had such a fun time with everyone at NRG I'm grateful for everything.
Keiko will be open to offers from all regions ahead of the 2027 season, with flexibility in his role pool as he can compete as a duelist, controller, or sentinel.
A consistent presence and reliable performer
Keiko was a reliable part of NRG due to his mechanical skill, consistency, and versatility. His ability to play both duelist and controller allowed him to adapt to different compositions while still providing firepower. He was also effective at trading kills, following up on entries, and creating opportunities without needing to be the main focus of the team.
His performance at VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Champions Shanghai reflected that impact, recording a 1.12 rating and 1.18 K/D, across 12 maps. He also secured 33 first kills, highlighting his ability to create early advantages.
While his performances varied throughout the tournament, these numbers demonstrated his value as a flexible player who could contribute both individually and within NRG's overall system.
Considering keiko only made his VALORANT debut in 2022, later than many of the scene’s veterans, the British player has demonstrated considerable individual skill on the stage.
What is next for keiko’s career?
Keiko left the European region at the end of 2025 after securing his first regional title with Team Liquid. Despite achieving regional success for the first time since beginning his professional career in 2022, the British player has yet to lift an international trophy.
His deepest run on the international stage came with NRG at the EWC - Esports World Cup 2026, where the team reached the Grand Final before falling short against 100 Thieves.
For now, keiko’s next destination remains unknown, but given his impressive individual statistics and versatility across multiple roles, the British player should attract interest from many teams ahead of the VCT 2027 season.
