Nongshim RedForce secure return to VCT Pacific 2026
On the final day of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Ascension Pacific, it all came down to a decisive clash between BOOM Esports and Nongshim RedForce for the final promotion spot to the 2026 VCT Pacific League. After BOOM’s earlier setback against SLT Seongnam, they entered the do-or-die match needing a miracle to retain their top-flight position. However, Nongshim RedForce proved the stronger side when it mattered most, closing out the Bo5 series with a convincing 3-1 victory to reclaim their VCT Pacific berth.
Throughout the tournament, Nongshim displayed steady growth and resilience. Their success was built on standout individual performances, with Kim "Francis" Mu-bin earning the honor of Player of the Tournament for his consistent excellence. Meanwhile, Lee "Dambi" Hyuk-kyu stepped up on server, securing the Finals MVP.
Nongshim’s Redemption Arc Continues
This marks Nongshim RedForce’s second consecutive appearance in the VCT Pacific League. While their debut season had mixed results, they demonstrated notable improvement toward the end of the year, picking up key victories over teams like Team Secret and Gen.G Esports. Their return sets the stage for a redemption arc as they look to build upon last season’s flashes of brilliance and establish themselves as a consistent contender.
BOOM’s Relegation and Future Prospects
For BOOM Esports, the loss meant another setback as they return to Tier-2 VALORANT. Their in-game bundles will be removed ahead of the 2026 season. However, due to new season changes, BOOM and the other Ascension teams still retain a chance to fight back through Stage 2 playoffs, keeping their Champions 2026 dreams alive.
VCT Pacific Expands Korean Presence
With Nongshim’s return and SLT’s recent promotion, VCT Pacific now features an impressive five Korean representatives: Gen.G Esports, T1, DRX, SLT Seongnam, and Nongshim RedForce. Both SLT and Nongshim are also set to receive team bundles in the VALORANT store for the 2026 season, marking their official integration into the top-tier circuit.
With renewed confidence and a stronger roster, Nongshim now have the opportunity to prove that their second chance in the league will be their most impactful yet.
