The year is already at an end, with competitions, tournaments, and events coming to a close for the holidays. However, this shouldn't cause esports fans any worry, as, in January, Open Qualifiers for the Valorant Challenger Series will officially kick-off for North America, "the largest region in challengers circuit."

With the new era of the Valorant Challengers League upon us, Teams are ready to showcase rosters, new and old, including some of the best talents in Valorant esports. Starting with North America, the top 12 teams from the qualifiers will move on to the 2023 new Challengers league, where the best teams will take their place at the Americas Ascension Tournament against their counterparts from Brazil, NA, and LATAM, and then take their place at some of the largest Valorant Esports events of the year, including a two-year promotion spot in the VCT Americas league in 2023.

The VCT 2023 - Challengers League North America - Split 1 promise to be intense, with almost 256 teams trying to take their place among the fated 12, a big step up from the previous norm of 128 teams. Up to six teams are being invited to join the league directly, and the other six slots will be filled up when the qualifiers happen on January 9 - 13 and again on January 17 - 22.

The format for the tournament, the playoffs, and the teams participating have yet to be disclosed, but some teams have already announced their commitment to participating in NA challengers next year, such as TSM, and G2 Esports. We can only make a calculated guess for teams Like FaZe Clan, as they still have most of their players under contract, so putting together a roster for the event wouldn't be out of the way for them. We'll just have to wait for more details on the qualifiers and league to be announced in the coming week by Riot Games and the tournament organizers, Knights Arena.
