NRG Esports have parted ways with their coach, Chet “Chet” Singh.

Chet has been with NRG VALORANT since its very beginning, joining along with Damian "daps" Steele as the team’s first members. Over time and many roster changes, NRG have proven themselves as one of the better squads in North America, however, big success has always seemed to elude them. They failed to make any First Strike closed qualifier, and couldn’t make Masters in VCT Stage 1 despite reaching both Challengers 1 and 3, where they looked like one of the best squads in the event. Most recently, their loss to XSET means they haven’t qualified for Challengers 1 in Stage 2, and will only have one more shot at qualification for Iceland in a stacked second Open Qualifier. In his departure tweet, Chet states that he’s exploring his options in both Counter-Strike and VALORANT.

The NRG squad could obviously proceed coachless here, there’s plenty of top rosters that have done it. But with open qualifier #2 kicking off in just 10 days, the decision has to be made in short order.

NRG are now:

Canada Damian “daps” Steele United States Sam “s0m” Oh Canada Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic United States Gage “Infinite” Green Canada Bradley “ANDROID” Fodor United States Ian “tex” Botsch
