Paper Rex secure Masters Santiago spot with Lower Bracket run
It would have come as a shock to everyone if the Princes of Pacific did not qualify for VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Masters Santiago 2026. Thankfully, today was not that day, as Paper Rex managed to easily dispatch Rex Regum Qeon with a 3-1 in the Lower Bracket finals to secure their ticket to Chile.
Although Paper Rex gave fans quite a scare when they were relegated to the Lower Bracket early in the tournament, they pulled off an incredible redemption run. The VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025 winners systematically dismantled Global Esports, DRX, DetonatioN FocusMe, and finally RRQ to punch their ticket to the first international LAN event of 2026.
F0rsaken's Explosive Performance
In the grand finals against RRQ, it was star player Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto who went absolutely ballistic, accumulating a staggering 101 kills across four maps. His dominant fragging power proved too much for RRQ to handle, as he consistently found crucial opening picks and clutch moments when his team needed them most. The Indonesian flex player reminded everyone why he's considered one of the most dangerous players in the world.
PRX had been looking quite shaky throughout this Kickoff run, with uncharacteristic mistakes and coordination issues plaguing their early matches. However, today's clinical performance puts renewed confidence in the hearts of fans that they will be able to live up to the expectations on the international stage once more.
This qualification also adds another event to the list for Paper Rex, who have now qualified for every international VALORANT tournament except Masters Bangkok 2025, cementing their status as the Pacific region's most consistent representative on the global stage.
Looking Ahead
For RRQ, losing three consecutive best-of-fives will undoubtedly take a mental toll on the roster. Despite their strong showing throughout the playoffs, falling short at the final hurdle three times in succession raises questions about their ability to close out crucial series under pressure. They'll need to regroup quickly and address these struggles if they want to secure Masters and Champions spots in the future.
As for Paper Rex, their qualification to Masters Santiago reaffirms their position as Pacific's perennial powerhouse, but questions remain about their consistency heading into international competition. For now, Pacific fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their most decorated representatives will once again fly the region's flag on the world stage.
