Lower Bracket Final: A Five-Map Epic

In their first ever clash in Tokyo, TALON and RRQ treated fans to a five-map thriller in the lower bracket final. While TALON stormed to an early 2-0 lead in the best-of-five, the tides quickly turned. Despite repeated opportunities to close out the series, TALON faltered on the following maps. RRQ capitalized on these cracks in TALON’s armor and fought back.

The deciding map, Sunset, went down to the wire, stretching into overtime. Here, the defending Stage 1 champions showed their mettle, clinching the victory 14-12 and earning their shot at Paper Rex in the Grand Finals.

Stars of the Show: jemkin and Xffero

The RRQ lineup rose to the occasion, but two names shined brighter than the rest. Maxim "Jemkin" Batorov delivered a jaw-dropping 91 kills and a 1.11 rating over the series. His explosive entry play remains unmatched in Pacific VALORANT, showing clear evolution since Stage 1.

On the defensive front, David "Xffero" Monangin anchored the squad with steely nerves as RRQ’s main sentinel. Racking up 83 kills and a 1.08 rating, he repeatedly snatched away unwinable rounds from TALON, securing RRQ’s spot in the final with his clutch prowess.

Paper Rex: The Final Boss Awaits

Waiting in the Grand Finals are Paper Rex, looking ever dominant after their international triumph at VALORANT Masters Toronto. In Stage 2, their only setback was a group-stage loss to ZETA DIVISION; otherwise, PRX have bulldozed their opposition, dropping just one game and sweeping every opponent 2-0 (in both the group stage and playoffs). Notably, this final marks the first time Paper Rex will face RRQ in Stage 2, making it the perfect stage for a clash of styles.

The evolution of Paper Rex’s roster has been remarkable, especially under Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto’s new leadership as IGL. The new structured team dynamic has enabled stars like Ilya "something" Petrov and Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie to shine, their duelist partnership providing unstoppable firepower and flexibility throughout the tournament.

    Grand Finals Prediction

With both teams in electrifying form, this grand final is set to be a classic, packed with high-octane plays. Experience, prep time, and the edge in multi-map marathons lean in Paper Rex’s favor. Expect fireworks, momentum swings, and unforgettable moments. But ultimately, the prediction stands: Paper Rex 3-2 RRQ.

Fans will not want to miss this historic conclusion to VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 2.
