Redgar joins Bitfix Gaming for VCL EMEA Stage 2
Bitfix Gaming has announced that former Masters winner Igor "Redgar" Vlasov will join the roster as a stand-in for the upcoming VCL 2025 - EMEA: Stage 2. The VCL NORTH//EAST X account also confirmed the Russian in-game leader's return to professional play, filling in for Markus "Martux" Søreng during the tournament, who will miss this stage of competition due to the start of a new full-time job. This also marks Redgar’s first official appearance since VCT 2024 - EMEA Stage 1, when he last competed with GIANTX.
Alongside Redgar, Bitfix Gaming also announced the addition of a new coach Andrew "braveaf" Gorchakov. Known for his previous experience as a player and coach in the Tier 2 CIS and EMEA VALORANT scene, BraveAF will support the team throughout their run in VCL EMEA Stage 2.
Redgar’s last appearance was during VCT EMEA 2024 Stage 1 with GIANTX. After the team’s disappointing results, he was benched and replaced by Ramses "Famsii" Koivukangas from UCAM Esports. In October 2024, he was officially released from the roster. His stint with Bitfix Gaming will mark his first competitive match in over six months, bringing veteran leadership and high-level experience to a team stepping into new territory.
Bitfix Gaming’s Road to VCL EMEA
Though Redgar brings a wealth of experience, Bitfix Gaming’s journey has full of ups and downs this season. The Norwegian-based organization has been a regular in the VCL NORTH//EAST league since 2024 but had yet to break through in a meaningful way. After qualifying for VCL 2025 - EMEA Stage 1 through the LCQ, the team struggled, finishing just above the bottom two.
However, their fortunes improved in Stage 2. Bitfix not only secured qualification through the open bracket but also finished in an impressive third place. Making it enough to earn a spot in the VCL EMEA Stage 2.
Climbing the EMEA Ladder
Currently ranked 22nd in the EMEA Ascension standings, Bitfix Gaming faces an uphill battle in the second stage of the Tier 2 VALORANT circuit. With Redgar’s veteran leadership and strategic depth, the team will aim to solidify their standing and pick up crucial Ascension points in hopes of pushing further up the ranks.
With Stage 2 approaching fast, all eyes will be on how this unlikely pairing fares against the region’s best.
