Sentinels and Trace Esports eliminated from VALORANT Masters Bangkok
The Swiss Stage of VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 delivered heartbreak for Trace Esports and Sentinels, as both teams were eliminated in last place. With two do-or-die matches on the line, T1 and Team Liquid survived to fight another day, while the first two teams of the tournament were sent packing.
T1 Dominate Trace Esports in 2-0 Sweep
In the first elimination match, T1 showed why they are considered a Pacific superteam by taking down Trace Esports in a convincing 2-0 series.
The Chinese squad struggled right from their own map pick, Lotus, where T1 overwhelmed them with a 13-3 victory. With the momentum firmly in their hands, T1 carried their dominance into their pick of Haven.
While Trace Esports put up a better fight, they ultimately fell 8-13, sealing their fate as the first team eliminated from the tournament.
Sentinels Fall to Team Liquid in a Grueling 2-1 Battle
The second elimination match saw Sentinels and Team Liquid go head-to-head in a closely contested three-map series.
Sentinels struck first, securing Lotus 13-7 thanks to an impressive attacking side. However, Abyss turned into a nightmare for them. Despite a strong start, Sentinels fumbled key rounds, allowing Team Liquid to force overtime and take the map 16-14.
The real disaster came on Bind, where Team Liquid crushed Sentinels with a dominant defense, only conceding one round in the first half. Liquid swiftly closed out the match 13-1, completing the reverse sweep and eliminating Sentinels from the tournament.
What’s Next?
With their Masters Bangkok journey ending early, Trace Esports and Sentinels will now turn their focus to the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - China Stage 1 and VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 1 respectively.
Meanwhile, T1 and Team Liquid will face DRX and G2 Esports respectively in another elimination matchup in the final Swiss Stage round, battling for a playoff spot.
