FURIA have announced that Sergio "txddy1" Oliveira has been benched from the active roster.

This is the Brazilian powerhouse's first change since they entered the VALORANT scene in January earlier in the year. With teddy, FURIA challenged at the top of the South American scene, securing first place finishes at VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Brazil - Challengers 1 as well as Stage 2: VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Brazil - Challengers 1 and VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Brazil - Challengers 2. However, they were not able to achieve the same success at Brazil’s biggest events, Masters and Challengers Finals, registering third place finishes in both and failing to qualify for Masters Reykjavik.

Performance wise, teddy was undoubtedly the weak link on FURIA, posting just a 0.87 rating and 0.62 KPR overall. Regardless of stats, he remains a meta-changing sentinel player in Brazil, remembered most for Imperial Esports’s double sentinel picks, and will bring excellent value to any team that grabs him in the future.

Both FURIA and teddy have time to evaluate their options until the end of Masters Reykjavik and will certainly be hoping to compete in Brazil’s Stage 3 soon after.

The change makes FURIA:

Brazil Alexandre “xand” Zizi Brazil Gabriel “qck” Lima Brazil Khalil “Khalil” Schmidt Argentina Agustin “nzr” Ibarra

Brazil Sergio “teddy” Oliveira (benched)
