TenZ officially parts ways with Sentinels
The announcement, made during a personal livestream, signaled a fresh start for the 24-year-old, who has been a central figure in Sentinels’ rise to fame since the early days of the VCT.
While the announcement came as a surprise to many, TenZ approached the change with calm optimism, describing it as “turning a new page in the book.”
A Legacy of Success and Loyalty
TenZ's time with Sentinels was nothing short of legendary. He joined the team in 2021 and quickly became the face of the organization, helping them secure two international trophies, including a historic win at VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Masters Reykjavík and at VCT 2024 - Masters Madrid. All the while becoming one of the very few players to have won two Masters titles. His mechanical skill, composure under pressure, and charismatic presence made him a fan favorite and the face of VALORANT itself.
Beyond the trophies, what defined TenZ’s run with Sentinels was the deep connection he built with the team and the organization. His time there wasn’t just about competition - it was about community, camaraderie, and growth. Even as he moves on, his bond with Sentinels remains intact, with continued friendships and mutual respect on both sides.
“I’ll always support them at the end of the day, both the players, the organization… Sentinels is hands down the best North American organization you could be a part of.”
Despite his departure, TenZ's connection with Sentinels remains strong. He joked about still having access to the team office and being open to future collaborations on content.
What’s Next for TenZ?
With his departure now public, TenZ hinted that he has new projects and ventures on the horizon, though details remain under wraps. For now, he enters a solo phase in his career, open to new paths while carrying with him the experience and recognition that made him one of the scene’s brightest stars.
As one of the defining faces of early VALORANT esports, TenZ leaving Sentinels marks the end of an era. But if his message is any indication, this isn’t a goodbye - it’s just the start of something new.
