TenZ reportedly set to join T1 for the VCT 2027

After two years away from competitive play, Tyson "TenZ" Ngo could be making his return, as recently teased. The Canadian player retired in 2024 and is now reportedly set to leave his content creator role at T1 and return as a professional player.

TenZ could be set for a competitive return

After winning two Masters titles, first in 2021 and most recently in 2024 with Sentinels, TenZ could be preparing for a return to competitive VALORANT. In 2024, he announced his retirement from professional play to focus on content creation, initially joining the American organization as a full-time content creator.

Two years later, he moved to T1, where he continued his career as a streamer. On October 21, the Canadian player posted "LFT" on X, sparking speculation among fans about a possible return to competitive play.

Now, according to a report by Sheep Esports, TenZ could be one step closer to making his comeback, transitioning from his content creator role to a professional player. However, neither the organization nor the player has confirmed the reports, so plans could still change.

VCT Pacific 2027

T1 was recently selected as one of the partner teams for the VCT Pacific 2027–2028 seasons. If TenZ joins the roster as a player, he would occupy one of the two import slots available to the organization under the new competitive rules.

Starting in 2027, teams will be required to field at least three players from their home country, leaving room for a maximum of two imports. In T1's case, the roster must include at least three Korean players, with the remaining two spots available for imports. Rumors indicate Austin "crashies" Roberts could be joining TenZ on T1's starting lineup for 2027, though nothing is confirmed yet.

As a partnered team, T1 will have a guaranteed spot in the VCT Pacific 2027 Kickoff tournament.
