Now that Kickoff has drawn to a close across all of the VCT, it is the perfect time to take a look at who have been the most picked agents from each VCT region so far.

While some agents stand out for their high pick rates across the board, it's interesting to see how each VCT region have their clear preferences when it comes to agent picks. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the most picked agents from each VCT region during Kickoff in 2025.

Top 3 agents from each VCT region

These were the most picked agents from each VCT region at Kickoff.

VCT Americas most picked agents: Smokes, smokes, smokes

  • #1: Omen (36.43%)
  • #2: Raze (35.00%)
  • #3: Astra (34.29%)

For the Americas region, it's interesting to see that two controllers stand among the top three most picked agents for the entire region: Omen at #1, and Astra at #3. While Omen has long been a staple of pro-play, Astra has often come and gone depending on the her latest buffs/nerfs.

Most other regions have shown a clearer preference for one or the other. The Americas, however, can't seem to settle on one as both agents bring different tools to the table, with Astra's Cosmic Divide proving vital for securing a Spike plant, but Omen being the more versatile agent overall.

To illustrate this idea we only need to look as far as G2 Esports. The VCT 2025 - Americas Kickoff champions saw their captain Jacob "valyn" Batio pick Astra a total of 9 times (42.9%) to the 8 times he chose Omen (38.1%) over the course of the past three months; only a one map difference.

VCT China most picked agents: A wild Cypher appears

  • #1: Omen (40.71%)
  • #2: Sova (37.86%)
  • #3: Cypher (30.71%)

Over in China, we see Omen pop up as the most picked agent at Kickoff once more. The surprise here, however, is Cypher showing up as the third most picked agent in the region.

VALORANT has no shortage of viable sentinels at the highest level, with Killjoy and Vyse often showing up in games. China, however, has shown an overwhelming preference for Cypher as they look to him to lock down sites when defending, and keep and eye out for any potential flanks when attacking.

VCT EMEA most picked agents: Ad Astra

  • #1: Astra (40.00%)
  • #2: Raze (35.00%)
  • #3: Sova (34.29%)

Both the Americas and China saw Omen as their most picked agent during Kickoff. EMEA, however, stands alone as the sole region that had another controller altogether as their #1 agent when it came to pick rate: Astra.

Iconic players from the region such as Jake "Boaster" Howlett have long been linked to Astra, but this makes the numbers no less surprising as EMEA as a whole continues to lean towards Astra when every other region in the VCT sticks with Omen.

Outside of Astra, however, EMEA's second and third most picked agents of Raze and Sova remain in line with what we have seen from the rest of the VCT.

VCT Pacific most picked agents: A showstopper region

  • #1: Raze (45.71%)
  • #2: Omen (40.00%)
  • #3: Sova (35.71%)

Last but not least, the Pacific stands out for relying on Raze more than anyone else in the VCT. As the only region to have had a duelist as their most picked agent at Kickoff, the Pacific has not let other regions influence their picks in the slightest. In fact, at a whopping 45.71%, Raze in the Pacific posts the highest pick rate out of any agent from from any VCT region at Kickoff.

Without a doubt, DRX, T1 ,and Gen.G Esports, the top 3 teams from the VCT 2025 - Pacific Kickoff, contributed largely to the Raze's soaring numbers in the region, with all three of Hyun-min " HYUNMIN" Song, Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul, and Kim "t3xture" Na-ra being big fans of the agent.

Now, it'll be interesting to see how all of these different agent preferences and pick rates converge at VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 as games turn unpredictable and explosive.
