According to today’s announcement, Riot Games have decided to host Masters 2024 in Shanghai next year. The news came a while after VALORANT officially launched in China, and to show their appreciation, Riot wanted to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the game’s release in the country with the VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai event.

Leo Faria, the Global Head of VALORANT Esports, sat in front of the camera to give the good news to the community. Faria began his words by saying how excited Riot is because VALORANT is finally available in China.

On July 12, 2023, a landmark day for Riot Games, VALORANT was finally made available in China. It means that you have no limitations to playing VALORANT in China. Since VALORANT's global premiere, Chinese players have been eagerly counting down the minutes until they can experience its action and strategic gameplay. Now, the country is getting an international event that will host the best teams worldwide.

VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai date

Right now, we know it will be held in China and nothing else. Faria didn’t give any other information regarding the event. We are still almost a year away from the event, so it makes sense that the company did not want to give any additional details, as it may change according to different circumstances. We will let you know as soon as more information about VCT 2023 Masters Shanghai is disclosed. All we know is that Masters Shanghai will be the "second international event" of 2024.

This year, the Masters event was held in Tokyo. The VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo was a huge success for Riot Games, and it was the first international event in Asia. Next year, Shanghai will join Tokyo, and it will be the second Asian city to host an international VALORANT Event. Fnatic won this year’s Masters trophy and we can’t wait to see if they will be able to win the tournament back-to-back.
