VALORANT Patch 12.07: Discord integration, settings overhaul, and bug fixes
VALORANT's latest patch is a relatively light one in terms of gameplay changes, but it brings a pair of quality-of-life updates—a cleaner settings experience on PC and, most excitingly, a brand-new Discord integration that makes coordinating with your squad a whole lot easier.
VALORANT x Discord
The headline feature of Patch 12.07 is undoubtedly the Riot x Discord partnership. VALORANT is officially integrating with Discord, allowing players to link their accounts and unlock a set of social features designed to remove the friction of getting into a game with friends.
Here's what the integration brings to the table:
- In-game party invites to Discord friends: No more alt-tabbing. You can now invite your Discord friends directly into your VALORANT party from within the client itself.
- Shareable lobby links: Copy a lobby link and drop it straight into your Discord server, DMs, or wherever your squad hangs out.
- Discord friend visibility: See which of your Discord friends play VALORANT and jump into parties faster without having to track down their Riot IDs.
This is a quality-of-life upgrade for a game where social coordination is half the battle. This integration streamlines the whole process into something much more seamless.
Rollout Timeline
The feature won't go live globally right away. Riot is taking a phased approach:
- Beta launch: Brazil first, followed by the US & Canada on April 21 (PT)
- Global launch: Exits beta and releases worldwide with Patch 12.08 on April 29 (PT)
Settings Screen Gets a Visual Overhaul (PC)
PC players will notice a refreshed Settings menu that prioritizes clarity and usability:
- Related settings now have parent-child associations, making it easier to find what you're looking for.
- Hover tooltips have been added throughout.
- The old General > Other section has been broken into three distinct categories: User Interface, Content Filtering, and Network.
- The overall UI has received a visual refresh.
Bug Fixes
Cosmetics
Several Marshal and Operator scope reticles, including the Kuronami Marshal, EX.O Marshal, Nocturnum Marshal, Araxys Outlaw, and Araxys Operator, have been updated to improve consistency within the center range of view.
Store Fixes
The store received a handful of polish fixes across all platforms:
- Gifting ineligibility screen now spans the full width of the screen.
- Fixed clipping issues on the purchase confirm step when buying a gun buddy.
- Fixed header text coloring on the purchase confirmation screen.
- Resolved various inconsistencies with bundle detail buttons.
- Fixed sprays appearing darkened during purchase flow previews.
- Bundle carousels are now a consistent height throughout the purchase flow.
- Removed the icon from a featured bundle tile when the bundle is already owned.
- Resolved discoloration of offer tile while gifting a Flex.
- Fixed a performance issue where having a large friends list caused slight lag.
Patch 12.07 isn't packed with meta-shifting changes, but the Discord integration alone makes it a notable update for the community. Keep an eye out for the global rollout with Patch 12.08 at the end of April.
